This past weekend the Highlanders inducted its newest members to the NJIT Ice Hockey Hall of Fame! Christopher Oertel, Jason Anagnos, and Corrado Mancini were pivotal members of the program helping its growth during their tenure!
(Player Induction) Christopher Oertel:
Proudly represented the Highlanders for 5 seasons from 2008-2013, appearing in 96 games during his NJIT career. He served as team captain from 2011 to 2013, demonstrating outstanding leadership both on and off the ice. Christopher graduated in 2013 with a degree in Electrical Engineering and concluded his career as one of the program's top defensemen, recording 60 career points.
(Player Induction) Jason Anagnos:
Was a standout member of the Highlanders from 2009-2014. Over his 5 year career, Jason appeared in 124 games and amassed an impressive 132 points, including 63 goals and 69 assists. Averaging 1.6 ppg, he cemented his place in program history and currently ranks 2nd all-time in Highlanders scoring.
Jason graduated in 2014 with a degree in Business and continued to give back to the program after his playing career, joining the coaching staff in 2016 and serving through 2019.
(Player Induction) Corrado Mancini:
Proudly represented the Highlanders from 2010-2015 and remains one of the most accomplished players in program history. Corrado currently holds the Highlanders' all-time records for points, goals, and assists. Over his 5 year career, he amassed an incredible 202 points in just 99 games, recording 116 goals and 86 assists.
His remarkable scoring ability and consistent excellence earned him recognition as one of the most prolific offensive players ever to wear a Highlanders jersey. Corrado graduated in 2015 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. In 2024, the Highlanders most valuable player award was dedicated to him showcasing a legacy that continues to set the standard for future generations of Highlanders.
