Senior day dub 🙂‍↕️

The Gray Bees brought home an 11-2 win over Glen Ridge yesterday to cap off the regular season! Luis Thomas ‘27 went 3-4 with three singles, and Justin Jimenez ‘26 and Michael Fazio ‘26 each batted in two runs.

Before the game, the five seniors were honored for their dedication and hard work over the years! 🫶

An 8-inning thriller 🫨

The Gray Bees pulled out the win in extras at Columbia High School to defeat the Cougars 8-7.

Michael Fazio '26 went 3-3 with two singles, one double, one run, one RBI and two stolen bases. Jeremy Mercado '27 had a 2-RBI afternoon, working two walks, stealing three bases and hitting two doubles and one homer. ⚾️

The Gray Bees will face the Glen Ridge High School Ridgers at home at Kasberger Field on Thursday, May 21 at 4 p.m. for Senior Day.

The boys varsity volleyball team picked up wins over Central High School (25-18; 25-22), KIPP Newark Lab (25-19; 25-23) and West Side (26-24; 25-22). 👏

Ezekiel Zoquier '27 and Miguel de la Cruz '26 led in kills over Central with five each. The Gray Bees combined for 11 aces on the afternoon to seal the win.

Gianni Vagnone '26 led the Gray Bees with five kills over KIPP Newark Lab. Kodjo Sodatonou '26 recorded three kills, three digs, one ace and one block, getting the job done on both sides of the ball. 🏐

Zoquier recorded four kills, four digs, three aces and one block over West Side. Giacomo Gallo '26 led in digs (8) and kills (7). With the win, the Gray Bees clinched the Liberty Division Title. 🥇

The Gray Bees will face The Delbarton School at home on Wednesday, May 20 at 4 p.m. for Senior Night.

The Gray Bees girls flag football team shut out the Empowerment Academy Charter Elephants yesterday 28-0 to close out the regular season. 👏

Before the game, we recognized three seniors and two senior managers: Kayla Jones '26, Xaria Poole '26, Laelle Stewart '26, Angel Manns '26, and Sade Robinson '26! Thank you for your hard work and dedication throughout the years. 🩶

Thank you to the UFC and Elvin Alicea ‘19 of Ironbound Boxing for coming by SBP and training with our students! Gray Bees met UFC fighters Ramiz Brahimaj and Aljamain Sterling and participated in a wrestling and boxing clinic, focusing on fundamentals like stance, movement and spacing! 🤼

The Gray Bee girls varsity flag football team defeated the Newark Tech Terriers 51-18 on Thursday in an offensive barrage. 💪

1️⃣5️⃣ Laelle Stewart '26: 4-6, 61 passing yards, 2 TDs, 7 carries, 107 rushing yards, 2 rushing TDS, 5 tackles, 2 passes defended
1️⃣ Kayla Jones '26: 12 carries, 203 rushing yards, 3 rushing TDs, 3 receptions, 36 receiving yards, 1 TD (pick 6), 2 tackles, 2 passes defended
1️⃣3️⃣ Julianna Martinez '29: 1 reception, 25 yards, 1 TD, 2 tackles
