Almost every morning, I stand at the back of my house and watch the sun rise over our little lake. And almost every morning, I take a picture. šŸŒ…

It has become one of my favorite morning rituals, a few quiet moments to simply notice, breathe, and be here.

I know. Another sunrise photo. šŸ˜‚ But I can’t seem to help myself.

Because I’ve watched hundreds of them from this very same spot, and somehow, not one has ever been exactly the same.

A different sky.
A different light.
A different beginning.

There is something magical about watching the world wake up. The first light spilling across the horizon. Everything slowly coming to life.

A brand new day quietly reminding us that we get to begin again.

I find those few minutes incredibly grounding. Hopeful. Full of possibility.

Before the doing begins, there is simply this:
a new day arriving. ✨

What helps you begin your day in presence? What grounds you and brings you back into the moment, into your body, into yourself?

And speaking of making space to pause, breathe and simply be… Thursday’s Long Exhale is officially full. šŸ¤

I love knowing that so many of us are craving a little more space to slow down.

Sometimes presence begins with a sunrise.
Sometimes it begins with giving ourselves permission to be still. šŸŒ…šŸ¤

🌱 I’ve been a little quiet around here.
Summer has carried me from mountain views in Canada… to weekends up north… to Chicago… and now straight into living in the middle of a home remodel. Our upstairs is completely gutted, we’re temporarily living above our friends’ shop in town, and if I’m honest… I’ve felt a little untethered.

I’ve always believed life has a way of reflecting back exactly what we need to see… if we’re willing to look.

The mountains reminded me that perspective changes everything. Our home reminds me that sometimes things have to be taken apart before something beautiful can emerge. And this New Moon, paired with Mercury retrograde is poignant, and has me noticing just how much I’ve been craving stillness.šŸŒ™

šŸ§˜ā€ā™€ļøLately, my usual five minutes of meditation hasn’t been enough. It’s been a gentle reminder that grounding isn’t something we accomplish once. It’s a practice we return to, again and again, especially when life feels beautifully full… or beautifully messy. Both can exist at the same time.

šŸ¤If you’ve been feeling emotional, scattered, in transition, or simply like life has been asking a lot of you lately… you’re not alone.

This season is inviting me to slow down, get quiet, and come back home to myself.

And maybe that’s exactly what Long Exhale is here to offer.

✨A few spots unexpectedly opened up for this Thursday at 5:30 PM. If your heart has been asking for a pause, I’d love to share that space with you. šŸ¤

ā˜€ļøSummer has a way of filling every corner of the calendar.

If you’ve been thinking about a lot lately, trying to figure things out, or feeling stretched between all the things you’ve said yes to… this is your reminder to say yes to yourself, too.

For me, it looks like waking up a little earlier than I need to. A cup of coffee. Watching the sunrise. Catching the moon before it disappears.

I love the quiet. I love being awake while everything else is waking up. It feels like the most still time of the day.

Yoga hasn’t taught me how to stop thinking. My mind still does what minds do. šŸ˜„

It has taught me how to come back to my breath. To slow down. To be here instead of five steps ahead.

Sometimes ten quiet minutes is enough to change the whole day. šŸ¤

What’s your version of a deep breath these days?

A recent trip back to California gave me something I wasn’t expecting: perspective.

For a long time, I missed that chapter of my life. The ocean. The adventure. The version of me who lived there.

But standing there again, I realized something.

I hadn’t left her behind.

The resilience, courage, healing, and practice I found during those years came with me. They became part of everything I’ve built since, including The Yoga Tree. šŸ¤

Maybe growth isn’t about becoming someone new.

Maybe it’s about gathering all the versions of ourselves and carrying their wisdom forward.

And honestly, this is one of the reasons I create retreats.

Sometimes we need to step away from the noise long enough to hear ourselves clearly again.

Permission to Savor is sold out, but something cozy is already beginning to stir for winter at Wild Rice… 🌲✨

full moon, firelight, and spring in bloom ✨

I released an old belief this weekend:
that it’s too late for me
that I’m somehow behind

I’ve carried that story for a long time
and if I’m honest, it’s kept me from taking action more than once

but under the full moon, sitting by the fire…
I let it go šŸ”„

new belief:
I’m right on time

what are you ready to release? 🌸

🌱 Change sounds simple… until you’re in it.

It asks for patience. For showing up when it would be easier not to. For choosing something new, again and again.

Real change doesn’t happen all at once. It’s a slow becoming.

And maybe it’s not about becoming a ā€œbetterā€version of yourself… but a more honest one.šŸ¤

More you.

This is the practice. ✨

Wake up with me ā˜€ļø

Not just the kind where you open your eyes…
but the kind where something in you quietly shifts.

This morning looked like
sunrise light spilling in,
a slow breath on the edge of stillness,
fur babies gathered like tiny guardians,
a walk with Oscar under soft skies,
and… swans (which felt like a little wink from the universe).

I heard this today from Moment app, and it stayed with me:

ā€œNothing in nature resists change…
the caterpillar becomes the butterfly,
water becomes v***r,
seeds become trees…
seasons shift in an endless dance of renewal.
That same force of transformation moves through your life.ā€

I’ve always been someone who craved change.
Once upon a time, maybe to escape…
but now?
I see it differently.

Change is how I know I’m alive.
It’s how I know I’m listening.
It’s how I know I’m becoming.

Nature doesn’t rush it.
It doesn’t cling to what was.
It just… keeps unfolding.

So maybe today isn’t about forcing anything.
Maybe it’s about noticing where life is already trying to grow you 🌱

Come practice with me.
Come wake up with me.

love and light,
Casey

Last night’s Long Exhale… šŸ¤

A room full of soft breath, quiet courage, and the kind of stillness that lets something real rise to the surface.

Right now, there’s a lot of energy asking us to begin.
To go after the thing we’ve been thinking about… maybe even avoiding.

But what I’m learning—and what we practiced last night—is that not all beginnings come from force.

Some begin in stillness.
In listening.
In a simple, honest yes.

The New Moon today is a powerful one. A fresh start. A green light. šŸ”„
But you don’t have to rush.

You just have to be willing to begin.

✨ Our next Long Exhale is May 14—and there are still a few spots left. Breath.

✨ New Monthly Ritual ✨
The Long Exhale šŸ¤

Our first gathering filled so quickly…
a gentle reminder of how much this kind of space is needed.

Slow, gentle, deeply nourishing.
A place to land, soften, and let go.

🌿 This time of year asks us to pause.
Not to fix.
Not to force.
Just to notice.

What feels heavy lately?
What feels finished — even if it ended quietly?

✨ As we move into Aquarius season (Jan 19–Feb 18), we step into an energy that invites freedom, honesty, and forward movement. A season that challenges old patterns and asks us to get clear about what we’re creating next.

šŸŒŽ There’s a lot happening in the world right now that we don’t have control over — and that can feel scary. I see it. I feel it. And the way I know how to respond is not by feeding anger or fear, but by tending to my inner space, my joy, and the light I choose to cultivate. Creating more peace, clarity, and compassion does serve the greater good.

šŸ” So I’m beginning a four-week personal reset at home — gently clearing space, releasing what no longer supports me, and getting intentional about where my energy goes next.

And yes… I’m officially coming out as a little woo. šŸŒ™
(Gentle woo. Grounded woo. Candle-and-intention woo.) šŸ•Æļø

Nothing extreme.
Nothing rigid.
Just intentional.

🌼 If you’d like, I’d love for you to do this alongside me.
We begin Sunday, January 18 — together.

No sign-ups.
No pressure.
Just a shared season of reflection, release, and stepping forward. šŸ’š
