Now that Killington's 2025-26 season has finally come to a close, we'd like to take a moment to reflect on an investment that was closely watched across the snowmaking industry.

First and foremost, thank you to the team at Killington Resort for their trust and partnership. In the fall of 2024, Killington purchased more than 1,000 HKD low-energy snowguns. At HKD, we prefer to let our products speak for themselves, but investments of this scale are worth reflecting on.

As Killington reported:

"$7 million was spent on snowguns that could be up to eight times more energy efficient than older models, leading to approximately 5.8 million pounds of carbon emissions saved per year."

Mark Horton of HKD was proud to present Winter Park’s Christopher Gabrielsen with the 2026 Colorado Ski Country Snowmaker of the Year Award.

It was great to see members of the Winter Park team at the Snow Conference Double Diamond Awards celebrating alongside Christopher as he accepted this well-deserved honor.

Plan on late-Spring skiing? Head to Killington Resort - they have been piling snow on Superstar so you ski in shorts, a t-shirt and sunglasses in a couple months.

Superstar at Killington is absolutely BURIED by the new fully-automated HKD fan guns at the base. You can barely see the new lift on the bottom right. This is the first season with late-spring skiing on Superstar with these fan guns, and it sure looks like the snow will hold up!
