Stop fear mongering.
Lifting weights isnβt dangerous and itβs not going to stunt your childβs growth. There's even some studies that show that children who lift end up TALLER than their peers who don't resistance train. In addition resistance training, especially under the supervision of someone who actually knows what they're doing, is actually one of the lowest risk physical activities your child can do and has a much lower injury rate than most other activities that your child ALREADY participates in.
Bentley just turned 13 in May and is heading into 8th grade. Today was also his first time ever stepping foot in a gym or ever touching a barbell. After only a handful of sets working on box squats, this was his very first full ROM barbell squat set ever on his first day ever lifting.
Strength training done correctly builds confidence, coordination, discipline, and resilience.
