Along the Russian River and in the heart of one of the world's finest wine producing regions lies the most unique golf course you will ever experience.
(697)

In 1928 after designing around the cypress trees at Cypress Point and amongst the magnolias of Augusta National, Dr. Alister MacKenzie made a stop along the Russian River and it's majestic Redwood trees. While you may never have the privilege of playing Augusta or Cypress, you can experience Dr. MacKenzie's famed naturally contoured fairways and undulating greens in a magnificent sylvan setting. A genuine challenge, casual elegance, pristine beauty, affordable green fees, and a signature ninth hole, all make for a most memorable golf experience at Northwood Golf Club. You are invited to take the tour, and enjoy an ethereal round at Northwood.

From Neil, Men's Club Secretary...
Hi everyone!
Last night the annual Night Golf event was held under ideal conditions - including clear starry skies and a nearly full moon. Before it got dark, there was a putting contest, chipping contest, costume contests (individual and group), and a raffle, all accompanied by a Halloween-themed soundtrack pumped out by our very own Chuck the DJ. The main event saw 16 teams play 8 holes (scramble) using glow balls of various colors, guided by expertly-placed glow sticks and lighted pins. All proceeds (roughly $500) went to the Men's Club coffers. Several of the attendees took photos and videos, here are a few from Chuck The DJ and myself.

A huge thank you to all who came out, played golf, dressed up and supported the club!

Special thanks to everyone who made this event possible, including Denis and Mary Brown, Mike Fauss (chili man!), Chuck the DJ, Vern Ayres, Ronnand the cart guy, Alberto Baldovinos and Rollie Atkinson for course set up, and Will Atkinson for manning the putting contest station until Randy Styhmmel arrived. Also a thank you to Ga***rd for his time and help making this all work..

News You Need to Know
Greetings golfers,

We're excited to announce that we've begun preparations for our centennial in 2028, celebrating 100 years of continuous operation and enjoyment for golfers from around the world. It's less than two years away! We have some course renovations planned, and you'll be hearing a lot more in the months ahead.

First, we've begun enlarging and recontouring our tees on holes seven and eight, to provide better conditions and teeing options. To allow the new grass to grow in properly, we will have temporary tees on those two holes forward of the existing tees. You will see equipment on the course from time to time, and we'll endeavor to not disrupt play.

Also, we will soon be selling centennial commemorative items in our golf shop and our online store. Stay tuned for that.

If you have any questions regarding the work on the tees, please call us at the course, 707-865-1116, and we will be happy to discuss our plans.
