One of the biggest obstacles for our clients and even myself is making exercise a family activity.
My wife, our daughter, and even Winston our corgi all have different needs and priorities throughout the day- that doesn’t mean they have to do what I do, it means you make time for them in your life ALONG with your own personal goals.
Has a dad, husband, pilot and business owner: I would be lying if it wasn’t tough not letting one of these things get hard to manage.
So here’s how I’ve been not only succeeding more with my personal fitness goals, but also my role in the family, business and job.
1. Time management is more important than your needs. If you don’t get your needs done- that’s on you not anyone else.
2. Perfection is the enemy of good: not everything you are juggling is a glass ball…many of them are rubber. Know when to catch and when to let one bounce…but never lose any balls.
3. The skill in simplicity in your life is overrated: I used to drive 20 min to a better gym: wasting 40min of my life driving… I now workout at planet fitness or home because it’s more efficient and simple…not because it’s better than the other gym but BETTER for my life overall.
Your health journey isn’t about following the perfect plan- it’s about continually problem solving and resource management. 😎
