Standards are necessary, they are either met, or they are not. Don't make them personal, don't take them personal and do not seek to use them as a scapegoat to do the wrong thing disguised as correct.
Do what is right, even when it may be unpopular or misunderstood. You will multiply what you encourage, knowingly and unknowingly and what you reinforce is what you standardize. Understanding this often makes progress easier.
Seek the advice and wisdom of those that know their field of expertise and are masters of their endeavors. They can often guide or help in minutes, what may take you or someone else years to understand while eliminating mistakes.
Grow seeds, not weeds. Do not put any energy into growing someone or something that is not beneficial or helpful. If a person schemes, misleads, or deceives, drop them like an anchor and feel the relief from the absence of that weight. It may change your life. Do not tolerate the unhealthy, for any fear of loss.
Surround yourself with people that push you to do better, want the best for you even when you are not around, show respect and humility, do what is right and take care of everyone around them. There is an abundance of wonderful people in the world, if you don't think so, it is your perspective, not the "truth".
The truth is you will have an abundance of what you seek and believe you deserve, and reciprocity is real. Be accountable, be a perpetual student and a teacher as often as possible. Seek what is good and you will be surrounded by it.
Take great care of yourself, your people and help make everything and everyone around you better and that includes you too. If you have wonderful people in your life, you are truly blessed. Try to be a blessing in the life of others and your own. You and they will improve.
