Alumni Spotlight!

Three of our former boys volleyball alumni are playing tonight in the NCAA Div III. National Championship!

Carthage will take on Springfield tonight for the title!

Huge shout out to Ruben Emmerich (‘21), Ben Heise (‘23), and Hudson Sweitzer (‘24) who all play for the Carthage Firebirds! We’ll be rooting you on!

Middleton High School senior Caden Van Buren has been selected as a 2026 WIAA Scholar Athlete Finalist, an honor reserved for just 32 seniors across the state from a pool of more than 700 nominees.

A seven-time letterwinner with the Cardinals, Caden has built an impressive list of achievements. He has contributed to two state championship boys volleyball teams, is part of four state championship team titles in swimming and diving, and has captured 10 individual state titles in the pool. He was also named Wisconsin Player of the Year in boys volleyball during his senior season.

Caden will be recognized alongside the other finalists at an awards ceremony on Sunday, May 3 at SentryWorld in Stevens Point.

Middleton High School senior Caden Van Buren was named the 2025 State Journal/WiscNews boys volleyball player of the year! 🌟

Caden led Middleton Cardinal Boys Volleyball through their perfect 39-0 season with a .483 hitting percentage, 84 service aces, 52 blocks, and 160 digs!

“His senior season was some of the best volleyball that I’ve seen from a high school volleyball player,” Coach Dylan Griffith told the Wisconsin State Journal. “His game is so complete. He brings power and finesse and just his dynamic ability to every single facet of the game.”

Middleton High School seniors Caden Van Buren, Vance Ferry, Will Hoffman, Bryce Stuttgen, and sophomore Jude Gehrke have been named to the 2025 State Journal/Wisc News All-Supernova volleyball team! 🏐🌟

These Cardinals delivered an outstanding 39-0 season filled with grit, teamwork, and standout performances, earning well-deserved recognition among the area’s top athletes.

An honorable mention also went to junior Jonah Johnson for his incredible work this season!
