🍂 That’s a wrap on another season at the HAA ballpark!

This week, our crew came together for one last big job of the year — closing down the ballpark for the season. 🧹⚾

There was cleaning, sweeping, hauling, organizing, packing things away and plenty of teamwork to get the grounds and buildings ready for winter.

So much happens behind the scenes to keep HAA going, and days like this are a great reminder that this park is truly cared for by our community. ❤️

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who showed up, rolled up their sleeves and helped us get it done. Whether you were cleaning inside, moving things outside, hauling garbage or tackling one of the countless little jobs — we appreciate you!

It’s always a little bittersweet shutting things down for the year, but before we know it, we’ll be opening everything back up and hearing bats cracking and kids cheering again. ⚾🥎

Until spring, ballpark. Thanks for another great season! 🥹❤️

And to everyone who played, coached, volunteered, sponsored, cheered from the stands or helped HAA in any way this year — thank you for being part of it.

This week, our Sponsor Spotlight is extra special. 🥹❤️

Some names on our ballpark fence represent businesses and organizations that generously support HAA. Others represent something that goes far beyond sponsorship.

🥎 Johnny B is one of those names. 🥎

John “Johnny B” Breaker was a longtime supporter of Harrison Athletic Association, generously sponsoring numerous teams and making an impact on countless players throughout the years.

When our board was recently reviewing the sponsor signs around the ballpark, we noticed Johnny B’s sign had become heavily weathered after years of hanging proudly on our fence.

But taking it down and letting his name disappear? That just didn’t feel right.

And clearly, we weren’t the only ones who felt that way.

When the opportunity came to replace his sign, past and present HAA players rallied together, contributing their own money to have a brand-new sign made in his honor. 🫶🏼

Think about that for a moment.

Years after his passing, the very people Johnny B spent so much time supporting came together to make sure his name would continue to have a place at the ballpark.

In recognition of his years of generosity and dedication to HAA, our board also made the decision to waive the sponsorship fee so his sign could continue hanging as a tribute to the legacy he left behind.

Because some people support a team for a season. Others leave a mark on a community that lasts long after they’re gone.

And Johnny B clearly did just that.

To everyone who contributed toward his new sign, thank you. What a beautiful reminder of the lasting difference one person can make.

And to Johnny B’s family and friends, we hope seeing his name proudly displayed at our ballpark serves as a reminder that he has not been forgotten.

Owner Bill Peotter first learned the drain-cleaning business alongside his father, Jack, before carrying on that experience and opening Speedy Clean Drain & Sewer in 1986. For nearly 40 years, owner and artist Toby Van Handel has been turning ideas into artwork. What started with a hand-painted sign for his father’s dairy farm grew into lettering trucks and signs for other local businesses—and eventually into Brush Boy Customs. 🎨

Today, their work goes far beyond signs. Brush Boy Customs specializes in custom signs, hand-painted artwork, pinstriping, vehicle and trailer lettering, custom airbrushing, vinyl graphics, 23K gold leaf, logo design and more. It’s a pretty impressive mix of old-school craftsmanship and modern design.

This week, we’re proud to recognize Les Stumpf Ford- "Home of the 7year-100,000 Mile Warranty" as our HAA Sponsor Spotlight!

You may know Les Stumpf Ford from their longtime Appleton location, but did you know their story has deep roots right here in Sherwood?

The business dates all the way back to 1921, and in 1922 its founders moved their automotive sales and service business to Sherwood. The Stumpf family continued operating here for decades before eventually moving the dealership to Kaukauna in 1969 and then to its current Appleton location in 1972. More than 100 years after the business began, Les Stumpf Ford remains locally operated and under multigenerational family leadership. 🚙❤️
