fitness tip of the week:
Resistance training, everyone wants to get outside and start walking and bike riding that seems like a excellent idea. Walking and riding without resistance training could set you back month and even years. As you age you lose muscle faster which will and can effect your bone density and metabolism. think about the saying the more muscle you have the more calories you burn. The amount of steps it take to burn one pound is close to 20,000 that's 3500 calories=1lb they can take 2 1/2to 3 hours of cardio. compared to resistance training where your body can burn calories hours after your training sometimes depending of the type of training it could triple your fat metabolism.
I recommend 3-5 resistance training sessions a week that can consist of day for legs, arms and upper body or a body part a day if going 5 days.

Muscle activation hypertrophy training is what I use for muscle activation. We are not lifting heavy movement we use 40 to 50%of 1 MR. I prefer this training method due to being able to train this way for long macro cycles without worrying about plateaus.
