Ballplayer of the Day: Ty

Ty had a great week at camp. He hit the ball hard, threw strikes, listened, learned, and continued to improve every time he stepped on the field.

This was a HOT week of camp, and as the heat and fatigue set in, we saw some groups begin to lose focus. Ty’s group had its moments too—arguments, fooling around, and some distractions along the way.

But Ty stayed the path.

He stayed focused on his mission: learn, compete, and leave camp better than when he walked in. Instead of getting caught up in the distractions around him, Ty led by example and stayed committed to getting better.

That’s a tough task for any player, especially a 4th grader battling the summer heat and two long days of camp. Ty showed maturity, discipline, and a genuine desire to improve.

Great week, Ty! Keep leading by example and keep getting better! 💪⚾️

Ballplayer of the Day ⚾️ Reilly

From the moment Reilly stepped on the field, the coaches noticed the effort, the attitude, and the way Reilly approached the game. Reilly worked hard, stayed humble, contributed wherever needed, and led by example.

On the field, Reilly made some great plays and absolutely hammered the ball all over the field. But what stood out most was the way Reilly kept getting better, competed every pitch, and did all the little things that make a great teammate.

Reilly caught the attention of our coaches right away, and when I asked our staff who should be today’s Ballplayer of the Day, the answer was unanimous. 👏

Congratulations, Reilly! Keep playing the game the right way! ⚾️🔥

⚾️ BALLPLAYER OF THE DAY: EVERETT! ⚾️

Everett was a walking highlight reel all week! Both days ended with Everett covered in dirt and grass stains—a true gritty performance from start to finish! 💪🔥

Coach Rob was sending up moonshot fly balls, and Everett was making them look easy, laying out and diving for ESPN-worthy catches all over the field. 🫡💨

On the mound, Everett also posted the highest radar gun reading in the pitching group for the age group—and the best part? It was a strike! 🎯🔥

Everett showed incredible leadership, sportsmanship, and competitiveness throughout the week. Then, in an extremely competitive Wiffle Ball matchup, Everett absolutely carried the team, coming up big when it mattered most. 💪⚾️

Hustle. Leadership. Sportsmanship. Big-time plays. Everett brought it all week long! 👏🔥

Ballplayer of the Day: Danny 👏

Danny has made himself known by every single one of our coaches since day one. He’s the definition of a great teammate—always bringing a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and true sportsmanship. Everything we look for in our players.

He’s someone everyone at our clinics knows, across all age groups, and he consistently sets the standard as a role model for the younger players.

Danny has also become one of the faces of Rounding 1st Baseball, starring in and hosting his now-infamous interview videos with the players 🎤

This recognition was long overdue. On a day filled with rain, Danny’s energy never dipped—he brought life and excitement to all 40 players and turned a grey morning into one full of energy and fun.

🔥 Ballplayer of the Day: Wesley 🔥

Wesley came out of the gate HOT today — bringing energy, excitement, and a ton of skill to everything he did. He truly dominated across the board, excelling in hitting, pitching, infield, and outfield. No matter where he was on the field, he made an impact.

What stood out even more was his attitude. Wesley showed great sportsmanship all day, competing the right way and constantly looking to improve not just himself, but everyone around him.

And then… the play.

Easily one of the coolest plays we’ve seen since starting Rounding 1st. While playing 3rd base in wiffle ball, a ball deflected off the shortstop’s hand — and Wesley dove, somehow catching it between his forearm and bicep. Absolute insanity. Every single person on that field — players and coaches — went crazy. A true one-of-one moment.

Keep bringing it, Wes 👏🔥

Ballplayer of the Day: Fred

Fred caught our coaches’ attention right away this week. From driving balls to the fence during BP to lighting up the radar gun at the pitching station, he competed every single rep.

Today, he took it up another level in the infield. During knockout, with our coach hitting missiles all over the field, Fred laid out for multiple balls—making plays other guys couldn’t get to—and came out on top in one of the rounds.

Love seeing that kind of toughness, positive attitude, and work ethic all week long. Keep getting after it, Fred! 💪⚾️

🔥 Ballplayer of the Day: JJ 🔥

JJ brought the energy from the moment he stepped on the field. Locked in all day—eyes on the coaches, ears open, and ready to learn every rep.

He stood out early flashing his prep steps in the infield, hit us with a little Dustin Pedroia-style hop 👀, and then followed it up with a crazy backhand diving play.

Most importantly, he worked hard, had fun, and showed respect to everyone around him. That’s what it’s all about.

Leading by example every single rep.

Brendan is a former standout pitcher, catcher, and infielder from Melrose High School who took his talents to Wentworth Institute of Technology to play college baseball.
Brendan will be offering lessons at the Inc all summer!
