Test and balance your water chemistry at least once a week. Relying solely on visual clarity can be misleading, as clear water can quickly turn dull or become unbalanced before you realize it.
A healthy, clear, and sanitized pool requires consistent attention to a few specific parameters:
* pH Levels: Aim for 7.4 to 7.6 to prevent skin irritation and equipment corrosion.
* Free Chlorine: Maintain between 1.0 and 3.0 parts per million (ppm) to effectively kill bacteria and algae.
* Total Alkalinity: Keep between 80 and 120 ppm to act as a buffer and prevent wild pH swings.

As temperatures rise, the risk of green algae increases significantly. Ensure your pool pump runs for AT LEAST 12 hours a day during peak summer to effectively circulate chemicals, particularly during the hottest parts of the day.Why this matters::

-UV Protection: Sunlight burns off chlorine quickly, and continuous circulation keeps your chlorine levels stable.
-Algae Prevention: Warm, stagnant water is a breeding ground for algae.
-Chemical Distribution: Properly circulates shock and algaecide to prevent cloudy water.
