Just because it bothers me—and probably nobody else gives a damn but me—I have to say it…

I am officially getting tired of these AI-generated tournament flyers.

And yes, before the internet detectives show up in the comments… I’ve used them too. Guilty as charged. 🙋‍♂️

The problem is every flyer now looks like it was designed by a robot that has never been inside a pool room, never smelled stale beer, never argued over a hit, and definitely doesn’t know the difference between an 8-ball and a 9-ball.

One flyer has 14 fingers.
The next has a cue stick growing out of somebody’s forehead.
The prize money says $5,000, $50,000, and $500 all at the same time.
And somehow every player looks like they’re about to save the world from an alien invasion.

Don’t get me wrong—AI is convenient. When you’re running businesses, tournaments, leagues, and trying to sleep once a week, it gets the job done.

But I miss the days when tournament flyers looked like they were made by a pool player… not a caffeinated toaster with internet access.

So if you see me posting AI flyers, just know I’m not proud of it…

I’m just busy.

Now excuse me while I go generate another flyer with a 17-ball rack, six cue balls, and a player holding a cue backwards. 🎱😂

🚨 STOP 13 – JUNE 20TH 🚨

The Rack Race rolls into Stop 13, and judging by the messages, comments, and excuses already floating around, some of y’all are doing everything to come up with an excuse not to play.

Last month we packed the room with 49 players. Not keyboard warriors. Not Facebook champions. Not “I would’ve played if…” experts. Actual players who showed up, put their money up, and let their cue do the talking.

Now the question is simple…

Where are the rest of you?

Every month we hear:
🎱 “The field is too tough.”
🎱 “The payout isn’t enough.”
🎱 “I don’t like bar tables.”
🎱 “I don’t like the rules.”
🎱 “I don’t like alternate break.”

At some point, it ain’t the format… it’s the fear.

This is an OPEN event. No handicaps. No excuses. No participation trophies. Just players competing against players for real money and real bragging rights.

💰 $5,000 Guaranteed Payout with 64 Players
💰 $2,500 Guaranteed payout with 32 Players
🔥 Race 6/5
🔥 Double Elimination
🔥 Points Race Event
🔥 Rack & Grill III – Aiken, SC

If you’re a player, act like one.

If you’re one of the best in the area, prove it.

If you’re an up-and-comer, earn it.

If you’ve been telling everybody how good you play… June 20th is your chance to cash the check your mouth has been writing.

The room was rocking with 49 players last month.

Let’s see who shows up this month and who keeps finding reasons to stay home.

🔥 ANOTHER ONE IN THE BOOKS! 🔥

Rack Race Stop #12 did NOT disappoint.

39 of the area’s finest came through the doors ready to battle for bragging rights, cash, and a chance to prove who’s really got game when the pressure is on. There were upsets, hill-hill matches, heartbreaks, and enough drama to keep everyone on the edge of their seats all night long.

When the dust settled, it was a stacked final four featuring Jason Stemen and none other than Johnny "The Scorpion" Archer , who fought his way to a solid 3rd place finish. Standing in the finals were Josh "The Beast" Roberts and Paul Song.

The challenge? Josh had to beat Paul TWICE in a true double-elimination format.

The result?

THE BEAST SHOWED UP.

Josh took the first set 6-2, then slammed the door shut in the second set 5-3 to complete the reset and claim this Rack Race title. Paul played phenomenal all day long and earned every bit of that runner-up finish, but this weekend belonged to Josh Roberts.

🥇 Josh Roberts
🥈 Paul Song
🥉 Johnny Archer

A huge THANK YOU to every player who entered, every railbird who watched, every sponsor who supports us, and our incredible staff who work behind the scenes to make these events happen. We don’t take any of you for granted.

The Rack Race continues…

📍 NEXT STOP:
Rack & Grill III – Aiken, SC
📅 June 20th

If you missed this one, don’t make the same mistake twice. The competition keeps getting tougher, the fields keep getting stronger, and the NO-BS train isn’t slowing down.

Until then…

🎱 Hit ‘em straight.
🎱 Practice like someone is coming for your spot.
🎱 And remember… excuses don’t cash checks.

Over the years we’ve run a LOT of tournaments. Open events, big-money events, league events, invitational events… but one thing we’ve NEVER done is run a Fargo-capped handicap event.

This weekend we decided to test the waters.

A Fargo 500-and-under event.
32-player cap.

And before we knew it…

💥 SOLD OUT IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS. 💥

For anyone who has ever run handicap events, you know they’re not for the faint of heart. You’ve got players shooting over their speed, under their speed, people questioning ratings, surprise upsets, and occasionally somebody getting their feelings hurt because the scoreboard didn’t match what they expected.

But you know what?

This event was AWESOME.

The players were respectful.
The competition was fierce.
The spectators were engaged.
The room was packed.
And the support shown to Rack & Grill was second to none.

Most importantly, I felt the event was played in the spirit it was intended—to give Fargo 500-and-under players a fair shot to compete, cash, and have a great time.

Did I have a few players that were borderline? Sure. That’s part of the challenge. Nobody is perfect, and ratings don’t always tell the entire story. I’ll continue reviewing matches, doing my homework, and vetting players the best I can because my goal is simple:

🎱 FAIR EVENTS.
🎱 NO FAVORITISM.
🎱 NO-BS.

As I learn this format and continue navigating these waters, I appreciate everyone’s patience and support more than you know.

Congratulations to our top finishers:

🥇 Wesley Rhoden (Fargo 480) — CHAMPION
🥈 Dallas Hopps (Fargo 458)
🥉 Curtis Smith Jr. (Fargo 362)

These guys earned it.

Truthfully, everybody in the building played great and represented themselves, the game, and our pool community the right way.

So here’s the good news…

🚨 WE’RE DOING IT AGAIN. 🚨

Mark your calendars for August 1st.

We’ll be opening the field up larger, adding MORE money, and making this one even bigger.

If you missed this one, don’t wait around. Based on what happened this weekend, seats won’t last long.

Thank you to every player, every spectator, every supporter, and every staff member who helped make this event a success.

The NO-BS crew appreciates every single one of you.

Until next time…

Keep practicing.
Keep grinding.
And if you’re planning on showing up August 1st…

You might want to start working on that Fargo now. 😎🎱
