A LABOR OF LOVE ❤️

Labor Day feels like the symbolic end of summer and the unofficial beginning of fall—a natural time to return to routines and decide how we want to finish the year.

It is also a day for us to say thank you.

For more than 20 years, Kevin and I have had the privilege of helping people become stronger, move more confidently and maintain the energy and independence to enjoy their lives.

We genuinely love the people we coach and the work we are able to do each day. Isokinetix truly is a labor of love, and our members make it possible.

One thing those years of coaching have taught us is that the earlier people train, the more consistent they often become.

It isn’t necessarily because morning exercisers have more discipline. Their workouts simply have less competition.

Before work runs late.
Before the doctor’s appointment.
Before errands, traffic and family responsibilities.
Before afternoon fatigue says, “Let’s start again tomorrow.”

When your workout is one of the first appointments of your day, fewer things have the opportunity to push it aside.

As fall begins, perhaps you don’t need more motivation.

Perhaps you need an earlier appointment.

Happy Labor Day from Isokinetix—and thank you to every member who allows us to do what we love. ❤️

HOLIDAY REMINDER: Morning sessions will be held as scheduled. We will be closed for all afternoon sessions today.

EXERCISE IN THE MORNING…
BEFORE YOUR BRAIN FIGURES OUT WHAT YOU’RE DOING! 😂

We sold this Isokinetix T-shirt years ago as a joke, but there is quite a bit of truth behind it.

The earlier our members train, the more consistent they tend to be—not because mornings magically create more willpower, but because there are fewer interruptions.

No workday running late.
No unexpected appointment.
No traffic delay.
No afternoon energy crash.
No one else’s needs taking over the time you intended to save for yourself.

Instead, you begin the day with movement, music, encouragement and a group of people who make exercise enjoyable.

Members frequently tell us they leave feeling more awake, alert and energized.

Research also shows that regular exercise can improve sleep quality, and consistent morning activity may help support the body’s daily sleep-wake rhythm.

Morning training doesn’t have to mean extremely early. It means finding a time before your day repeatedly gets away from you.

This week, we’ll be sharing several reasons to consider moving your workout closer to the beginning of your day.

Come experience what it feels like to finish your training before the rest of the day has even had a chance to interfere.

Send us a message to learn more about Isokinetix and find a morning training time that works for you.

30+ Years of Coaching — Lesson #5:

YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO IT ALONE.

The women in today’s photo are part of one of Cindy’s longtime BMBF groups. They went to lunch together to celebrate her 60th birthday—but this picture represents much more than one afternoon.

They originally came together to exercise.

After years of showing up, working hard, encouraging one another and sharing life between the exercises, they have become great friends.

That is what community can do.

Knowing what exercises to perform is helpful. Having people who help you continue performing them can be life-changing.

At Isokinetix, coaching means more than demonstrating an exercise or counting repetitions.

It means helping you choose the right starting point.

It means modifying a movement when needed and recognizing when you’re ready for a greater challenge.

It means knowing your goals, noticing your progress and helping you return when life interrupts your routine.

And then there are the people training beside you.

The ones who save your usual spot, ask where you’ve been, celebrate your progress and eventually become part of your life outside the studio.

After more than 30 years, Cindy and Kevin have learned that relationships are not simply a pleasant extra added to an exercise program.

They are often the reason people keep showing up long enough to experience meaningful change.

This week, we’ve shared five lessons that guide everything we do at Isokinetix:

1. Consistency beats intensity.
2. The best exercise meets you where you are.
3. Train for the life you want to keep living.
4. Progress is more than a number on the scale.
5. You don’t have to do it alone.

You don’t need to walk into Isokinetix already knowing what to do.

You don’t need to be in shape.

And you don’t need to do it alone.

Come as you are. We’ll help you begin—and you may discover much more than a place to exercise. 💚

30+ Years of Coaching — Lesson #4:

PROGRESS IS MORE THAN A NUMBER ON THE SCALE.

A scale can measure your total body weight.

It cannot measure how confidently you climb stairs.

It cannot measure your balance, mobility or stamina.

It cannot tell you that you’re using more resistance, walking farther or getting up from a chair more easily.

It cannot measure the confidence that comes from realizing your body is becoming more capable.

At Isokinetix, we look for progress that affects everyday life:

More strength.

Better movement.

Improved balance.

Greater stamina.

More energy.

Increased confidence and independence.

Weight-related goals may be important to you, and we respect that. But they are only part of the picture.

After more than 30 years of coaching, we know that some of the most meaningful results are found in what you can do—and how your life feels—not simply in what you weigh.

If the scale has ever made you believe your effort wasn’t working, it may be time to use a better definition of progress.

Come discover what your body is still capable of building. 💚

30+ Years of Coaching — Lesson #3:

TRAIN FOR THE LIFE YOU WANT TO KEEP LIVING.

Why do we work on squats?

So you can rise from a chair—and eventually get down to the floor and back up with greater confidence.

Why do we practice balance?

So you can navigate steps, uneven ground and unexpected stumbles more safely.

Why do we strengthen the upper body?

So carrying groceries, lifting luggage and handling everyday responsibilities remain manageable.

Why do we train the heart?

So you have the stamina to walk through the park, travel, play a sport and enjoy time with the people you love.

At Isokinetix, the workout isn’t the final goal.

The goal is what the workout helps you continue doing outside the studio.

After more than 30 years of coaching, Cindy has learned that most adults aren’t looking for exercise to become the center of their lives.

They want exercise to support their lives.

That is why we train for strength, mobility, balance, stamina and power—not simply for how someone looks, but for how well that person can continue living.

What do you want to keep doing five, ten or twenty years from now?

Let’s train for that. 💚

Message us to schedule a visit and discover a starting point that fits the life you want to keep living.

30+ Years of Coaching — Lesson #2:

THE BEST EXERCISE MEETS YOU WHERE YOU ARE.

Many people believe they need to get in better shape before joining a fitness program.

They worry that they won’t be able to keep up, that everyone else will be more experienced or that their limitations will make them feel out of place.

At Isokinetix, you don’t have to get ready before you begin.

Meeting you where you are is our job.

That may mean beginning with 10 minutes, 30 minutes or 45 minutes of movement—whatever feels manageable enough for you to return and do it again.

It may also mean beginning without getting on the floor. While most MobilityFit sessions include floor-based movement, our Friday 9:30 a.m. MobilityFit class is performed entirely off the floor. We do similar moves in a chair from a seated position.

When appropriate, we would eventually love to help you build the strength, mobility and confidence to get down to the floor and back up again. That ability matters in everyday life.

But you don’t have to be able to do it before you begin.

We’ll start with what you can comfortably do today and progress from there.

One person may perform an exercise standing while another uses a chair. One may work with greater resistance while another focuses on control and range of motion. Someone returning from a health challenge may need a very different starting point from someone training for tennis or pickleball.

Different doesn’t mean less effective.

The right challenge is the one that helps you improve safely without making you afraid to return.

After more than 30 years of coaching, Cindy has learned that great coaching isn’t about making everyone complete the exact same workout.

It’s about understanding the person in front of you, choosing an appropriate starting point and helping that person progress.

You don’t need to prove that you’re ready.

Come as you are. We’ll start there—and build together. 💚

Message us to schedule a visit and learn which Isokinetix training option would be the best starting point for you.

Today, Isokinetix co-owner and coach Cindy Cavaretta turns 60! 🎉

We’re celebrating by sharing the first lesson from more than 30 years of coaching, teaching and training:

CONSISTENCY BEATS INTENSITY.

The fitness world often celebrates the hardest workout, the biggest transformation and the most extreme effort.

But lasting strength and better performance are usually built much more quietly.

They’re built by training regularly, practicing the fundamentals and gradually developing the strength, balance, mobility and confidence your body needs.

That philosophy is also behind our new Court Ready Performance Training program for tennis and pickleball players.

The quick clips in today’s video show just a few of the qualities we’ll develop:

• Faster, lighter footwork
• Better balance and body control
• Strength and rotational power
• Agility and quicker reactions
• Conditioning that carries onto the court

You don’t need to train like a professional athlete. You need purposeful coaching and a program you can perform consistently.

We still have a few Court Ready openings available. Join one of our groups—or gather your playing partners or league teammates, and we’ll work with you to arrange a training time exclusively for your group.

Because the goal isn’t to exhaust yourself in one workout.

It’s to become stronger, quicker and more confident every time you step onto the court.

Message us for Court Ready details and available training times. 🎾

Tomorrow, Isokinetix co-owner and coach Cindy Cavaretta turns 60. 🎉

It’s a personal milestone—and an opportunity to reflect on more than 30 years spent coaching, teaching and helping people become stronger and more capable.

Over those years, Cindy has worked with competitive athletes, complete beginners, busy adults, grandparents and people returning to exercise after injuries, health challenges or years away.

The methods and equipment have evolved, but the most important lessons have become increasingly clear:

Strength matters—but consistency matters more.

The most effective exercise isn’t necessarily the hardest. It’s the kind that is safe, purposeful and sustainable.

Mobility, balance and energy become more valuable with every passing year.

And getting older does not mean becoming less capable.

This week, Cindy will share some of the most important lessons she has learned from more than three decades of coaching—and from experiencing the aging process herself.

These are the same principles behind everything we do at Isokinetix: meeting people where they are, coaching them with intention and helping them build strength for the life they want to keep living.

Because 60 isn’t the end of anything.

It’s a very good time to keep getting stronger. 💚

🐾 HAPPY NATIONAL DOG DAY FROM ISOKINETIX! 🐾

Rex and Lady may be our guest coaches this week, but today we want to meet the dogs in YOUR life.

Every dog has a superpower.

Rex brings strength and power.

Lady brings speed, agility and grace.

Your dog may bring energy, loyalty, companionship, laughter—or a daily reminder that it’s time to get up and move.

Post a photo in the comments and tell us:

🐕 Your dog’s name
🐕 Their age
🐕 Their special superpower

One of the best reasons to maintain our strength, balance and mobility is so we can continue participating in the life happening around us.

That includes walking the dog, throwing the ball, getting down on the floor, exploring new places—and keeping up when someone spots a squirrel. 😂

At Isokinetix, we help adults build the strength and confidence to keep doing the things they love.

That same mission is behind our new Court Ready Tennis & Pickleball Performance Training program, beginning August 31.

Court Ready develops the strength, power, agility, balance and mobility needed to move more confidently on the court.

Eight-week small-group program
Two 60-minute sessions per week
Limited to 4–8 participants
Investment: $300

Interested? Comment COURT READY, send us a message or visit:

August 31 is also Coach Cindy’s 60th birthday. She plans to keep moving, playing and chasing new goals—and Rex and Lady fully expect to be included. 🎾🎂🐾

Now, enough about us.

Monday Motivation

Never retire from taking care of yourself.

Retirement is often described as the time when you stop working.

Jack LaLanne believed it should never be the time when you stop taking care of yourself.

In fact, it's one of the most important seasons of life to stay active.

After years of building a career and raising a family, your body deserves the same attention you've given everything else.

Exercise isn't just about adding years to your life.

It's about adding life to your years.

The freedom to travel.

The energy to play with your grandchildren.

The strength to carry your own luggage.

The confidence to remain independent.

Those are the rewards of continuing to invest in your health.

Jack never retired from exercise.

He never retired from learning.

He never retired from setting goals.

He believed every stage of life offered new opportunities to grow stronger, become healthier, and inspire others.

Retirement should create more time to walk.

More time to prepare healthy meals.

More time to stretch, strengthen, and enjoy the outdoors.

It shouldn't become an excuse to slow down.

One of the greatest gifts you can give yourself is a body that's ready for whatever tomorrow brings.

So whether you're retired, still working, or somewhere in between, make your health a lifelong commitment.

Because you may retire from your job.

But you should never retire from taking care of yourself.

Your future depends on it.

"The goal isn't simply to live longer. It's to stay active enough to enjoy every one of those years."
– Inspired by Jack LaLanne's philosophy
