Manchester FIRST Robotics

Manchester FIRST Robotics We are the FIRST Robotics teams of Manchester, Michigan. We earned a prized district blue banner at Gibraltar in 2019. 2022 holds so much promise.

The Digital Dislocators, Manchester High School's first FIRST Robotics team #6081 was founded in January of 2016. In our first year as a team we created a robot that made us finalists at the first Kettering competition and the highest seeded rookies at the Howell competition. In the fall of 2016, we started a Manchester Middle School team #11193, The Flying DutchBots. This team has advanced to the

state level 4 times so far! Our mission statement:
Manchester First Robotics focuses on giving students the educational and life experience as students are applying their skills and knowledge of the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematical fields while modeling the FIRST values, and gracious professionalism throughout the time of serving their community by planning and hosting community-based events and functions.

When we took over the organization of the canoe race, we had never qualified for the FIRST Robotics world championship. From that point forward, we qualified in back to back seasons. Unfortunately these major accomplishments also came with a price which just so happened to lead to more difficulties in regards to making the canoe race the best event that it possibly could be.

While it is bittersweet for us to be handing off this absolutely wonderful community event, we couldn't be happier that the Manchester Men's Club will be the ones taking it over!

They have been a crucial sponsor and supporter of our program for a very long time, and we are so excited to be able to continue supporting the event and giving back to the community in any way we can in the future!

🛶 A New Chapter for a Cherished Tradition 🛶

The Manchester Men’s Club is proud to announce that we will be hosting the 60th Annual Manchester Canoe & Kayak Race in 2026! 🥳

This beloved event has long been a highlight of our community calendar, and we’re honored to carry the torch forward. Over the past year, we partnered with the incredible Manchester FIRST Robotics to shadow and learn the ins and outs of hosting the race—ensuring that its spirit, energy, and legacy continue to thrive.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the Robotics Team for their years of dedication and stewardship of this event, and for their generous support during this exciting transition. We also thank the entire Manchester community for your unwavering support. Your enthusiasm has kept this race alive for six decades—and we can’t wait to continue the tradition with you.

🎉 We’re thrilled for what’s ahead in 2026 and already hard at work planning an unforgettable race.

Stay tuned for updates as we get closer to next year—we’ll be sharing details, surprises, and ways you can get involved!

Here’s to the next chapter of the Manchester Canoe & Kayak Race… let’s make it our best one yet.

The rummage sale might be over, but that doesn't mean we're taking a break! Come see us this Saturday (July 5th) at the Manchester Jr/Sr High School from 10am-5pm for our third annual bottle drive!

This is another fundraiser that helps support our our middle school and high school robotics programs!

Cans and bottles can be dropped off in the rear parking lot at the Manchester Jr/Sr High School located at 20500 Dutch Drive, Manchester, MI 48158

Thank you so much to everyone who donated items, came out to shop, or simply helped us get the word out about the rummage sale over the past week!

Together we were able to raise $4,157 that will all be used to help support our robotics teams, and we are thrilled to be donating all of the remaining unsold items to local organizations in an effort to give back to our community!

We had such an amazing time with this event, and we are already discussing the possibility of making it an annual summer fundraiser!
