Congrats to Grant Johnson for placing 5th at the AAU Jr Olympic Games for the 2nd consecutive year! He has achieved the title of All-American in the event! He improved his score by 317 points from last year to score 6246 points from the 10 events! He was top 5 in the Shot Put, 400m, 110m Hurdles (2nd overall), Discus, and the 1500m (3rd overall)!

He had PR’s in the 100m, Shot Put, and Pole Vault, and was strong in all of his events. Congratulations to Grant for all the hard work and to a great ending to a very successful High School Track and Field career! Full results can be found at the link below. You make Manchester proud! We have some special post season shout outs!

Congrats to Jayden Johnson for competing in the Adidas Nationals last week in multiple events (100m, 200m, and 4x200m Relay)!

Congrats to Grant Johnson for being a repeat Champion in the Decathlon at the AAU Regional today in Flint! He had multiple PR’s including the 100m, Javelin, Discus, and Shot Put! He also scored over 6000 points which is a personal best and great milestone in the event! With this he qualifies for Nationals!

Jayden and Grant make Manchester very proud! Go Dutch!!

Tonight was our Track Camp Mini Meet and these kids came out and competed! We changed it up this year and did a decathlon style event to get the most well rounded athletes. The older kids did a Hexathlon (300m or 200m, Long Jump, Shot Put, Discus, Hurdles, 100m) in their age brackets and the youngest group did a Pentathlon (LJ, SP, D, Hurdles, and 55m). It was a fun time to see all their hard work and what they’ve learned at Track Camp! Medal Results are below for the Hexathlon. We will work on getting your medals to you. We had an awesome night at Track Camp Day 2 tonight! We reviewed what we learned Monday and did more station work learning and practicing the events! Then we ended with a team relay event and got our Track Camp shirts!

Reminder, our Day 3 mini meet is Monday, June 22nd 6-8:30pm! This will be run like a regular track meet. We will break into groups, but will compete in events similar to a Decathlon, then end with awards. Wear your Track Camp shirt! Go Dutch!!

UPDATE: Track Camp Day 2 will be postponed today because of the rain and storm threat this evening. We will resume Day 2 of Camp tomorrow but will go from 6-8pm. We will pass out Camp shirts tomorrow!

We are looking at a reschedule date of Day 3’s mini meet to take place on Monday, June 22nd from 6-8:30pm. Go Dutch and we will see everyone tomorrow from 6-8pm!

Track Camp Day 1 went great and was a lot of fun! We will monitor the weather for Wednesday and will post any updates if our schedule changes. As of now, Day 2 will still be Wednesday at 6-8pm. Our campers got to race the State’s fastest 200m runner in Jayden Johnson! It was a close race but Jayden is still the fastest person! Track Camp shirts will be passed out on Day 2. Go Dutch!
