This Armed Forces Week, we proudly honor the active-duty service members, veterans, reservists, National Guard members, civilian personnel, and military families whose dedication, sacrifice, and leadership make our community stronger every day.

As part of our commitment to those who serve, military members and their families are invited to enjoy FREE access to the Southeast, Downtown, and Hogan YMCA branches through June 13. Just bring your military ID and a photo ID.

Beyond this week, we remain dedicated to supporting military families through scholarships, outreach programs, and opportunities that help individuals and families connect, grow, and thrive.

On June 6, 1844, George Williams and 11 young men in London came together because they needed something the city was not giving them: community, purpose and a place to belong.

That belief still guides the Y today.

Every day, people walk through our doors looking for something meaningful. A goal to work toward. A friend they did not expect. A chance to be part of something bigger than themselves.

Over the years, the Y has evolved in many ways. Our logos have changed, our programs have expanded and generations of people have walked through our doors. But one thing has remained constant: helping people thrive and strengthening the communities we serve. There is no place like this place!

🇺🇸 Armed Forces Week begins in Huntsville, and we’re proud to join our community in honoring the active-duty service members, veterans, reservists, National Guard members, civilian personnel, and military families who strengthen our nation and support the vital mission of Redstone Arsenal.

As a small token of our gratitude, the Heart of the Valley YMCA is offering FREE access to all active-duty military, veterans, reservists, National Guard members, and their families from June 3–13 at our Southeast, Downtown, and Hogan YMCA locations. Simply bring your military ID or photo ID—no strings attached.

The Y is committed to supporting military families year-round through scholarships, outreach initiatives, and programs that help strengthen connections, improve well-being, and ensure access to opportunities for all.
