Ardmore Rock n' Ride
Kim Geist Coaching athletes have been continuing the summer road season, competitively and recreationally. Some competed in the Ardmore Rock n' Ride, seen here.
Thanks for the video and shout out to Kim Geist Coaching athlete Ryan Pomajevich, Karl Turek.
Motorpacing Jo
Jo Johnson, at 77 years old, has been a Kim Geist Coaching athlete since 2012. Seen here motorpacing behind Coach at almost 30 mph, she has been and still is one of the most enthusiastic (and competitive) athletes we've ever worked with. Here's to many more years, Jo!

The east coast Memorial Day weekend criteriums provided fast and furious competition among huge fields as always, to open up the summer season. Crashes, restarts, and general chaos meant that it was far from smooth sailing for our athletes, but they were still able to secure some highlights among it all:
Easton Criterium:
4th Women 3/4 - Jillian Halm
10th Men 40+ - Ryan Pomajevich
Tour of Somerville:
9th Women 3/4/5 - Jillian Halm
32nd Women 3/4/5 - Lela Young
(Of 55 riders, as a junior in only her third criterium)

Derby
A third of the Derby, the local training race ride, was made up of Kim Geist Coaching athletes this past weekend. Wanting to perform in real-life situations takes practicing in real-life situations. And it is absolutely possible to complete an individualized training plan and still be among friends, with a well-devised plan in place!

Rock Hill Training Trip
Track athletes made a several day trip to the Rock Hill Velodrome in Rock Hill, SC over spring break, to stay fresh with their skills on 250m velodromes, preview the venue for the USA Cycling Masters Track National Championships, and enjoy some training and camaraderie among the warmer temperatures.
Thanks to the staff in Rock Hill for being gracious hosts.

With a lighter load as the track racing wraps up at the end of the summer, this fall we've been leading the charge with some Valley Preferred Cycling Center community programs.
Bicycle Racing League has seen 30+ kids get onto the track and 20+ continuing into the racing series. Finesse & Fury by Kim Geist Coaching members have been assisting Coach Kim and VPCC coaches, too.
Time Trial Try the Track saw adult cyclists try a new discipline and gain all the knowledge and basic skill needed to take part in a timed race.
It's refreshing to see new and excited faces and a pleasure to get to be a part of these beginnings.

This past weekend members of Finesse & Fury by Kim Geist Coaching traveled to Poolesville, MD to compete in each rider's first ever road race, the heavily contested Poolesville Road Race.
Jillian Halm finished 8th among 45, from the breakaway group, even after getting caught behind a crash in the final sprint to the line. Elijah Tielmann finished 9th after animating in his field of 58. And Hannah Halm finished 19th among the 45 riders, hanging tough in the lead group until the final few miles.
These riders were supported by Kelly Benefits Strategies, the team that members of Finesse & Fury can opt to represent, receiving backing on the track and off.
Although Finesse & Fury focuses on track cycling, road cycling is the perfect compliment to the physical, tactical, and skill training needed to succeed.

2022 saw a number of firsts and milestones for Kim Geist Coaching, including:
- Starting the Finesse & Fury by Kim Geist Coaching program for young endurance track cyclists with big aspirations
- Opening the Kim Geist Academy with strength training equipment, indoor cycling, meeting and presentation space
- Serving as head coach for the USA at the Junior World Track Cycling Championships
- Earning Masters World Track Cycling Championship jerseys and medals
- Setting multiple masters national records
We of course continued on with earning national championship jerseys and medals across elite, junior, and masters categories in the disciplines of track, road, and cyclocross and met lots of other personal goals along the way like increasing power, conquering group rides, meeting distance goals, championing segments, and improving tactics and skills, just to name a few.
None of this could be possible without the people who support us. Thank you as always to the athletes who make it happen!

Finesse & Fury by Kim Geist Coaching athletes have been at work for the past two months:
- After the initial readiness checks, they have been strength training and cycling indoors at the Kim Geist Academy, completing road training (including glycolytic work, as pictured), paying attention to customized recovery routines, and participating in our educational presentations.
- Enough progress has been made already that we will be repeating field tests next week for all riders.
- We have scheduled the first of our tactical study sessions, in preparation for next season.
- We have planned a training and racing trip to the Mattamy National Cycling Centre, along with other Kim Geist Coaching athletes, to get a head start on this tactical practice.
- These athletes have also become a part of an incredibly well-respected team that will assist them with the kit, equipment, and access to the races that they also need to be successful (we'll tell you all about that later!).
And this is only the off-season.
Finesse & Fury is a comprehensive coaching program for young endurance track cyclists, an individual program with a group aspect.
P.S. - The video is from the cockpit of Coach's bike. We ride *with* the athletes, too.
