From the Athletic Director

Good Afternoon Baseball Players and Families,
I appreciate your patience as we work through the process to bridge the gap leading into fall baseball training for the team.

Coach Sam Raineri has graciously taken on as the interim coach for the time being. He will be the main point of contact working with the players to coordinate the fall training. We have arranged for some coaches, faculty, and staff members to assist Coach Raineri with the transition during this period of overlap.

EHS Baseball Fall Open Workouts Information:
Emmaus HS Open Fall Baseball Workouts will start Tuesday, September 8th and run through to the end of October. These workouts are open to any 9th-12th grader interested in playing baseball, SEE SCHEDULE
Workouts will be held on Mondays and Tuesdays (and 1 Wednesday) at Church Lane Park (7200 Church Lane, Macungie, PA 18062) on either of the 2 fields at that location. Note: no shuttle bus in the off-season, you need to find your own transportation.

September 8, 15, 16(Wed) - training is open to all returning players grades 9-12 and will be held 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM

September 21, 22, 28, 29, October 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, 27 will be open to interested baseball players as per the following:
Seniors, Juniors and returning Sophomores from last year’s Varsity or JV Teams will work out from 3pm-4:45pm.
All Freshmen players along with Sophomores that were not members of last year’s Varsity or JV Teams will work out from 4pm-5:30pm.
In order to participate in these workouts you MUST complete the Extracurricular Athletic Activities Intramural Consent Form and bring this form with you to the first training you are attending. Please note: NO ONE WILL BE PERMITTED TO TRAIN WITHOUT A COMPLETED CONSENT FORM. There are forms in the athletic office if you prefer a hard copy.

JV takes down Whitehall 11-1! ⚾️🐝💚

Emmaus Junior Varsity Green Hornets defeated Whitehall Junior Varsity Zephyrs 11-1 on Tuesday thanks in part to seven runs in the second inning. Steve Hodge was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Sam Fleetwood drew a walk, scoring one run, Parker Davis singled, scoring two runs, Justin Spagna singled, scoring one run, and Jackson Marsh singled, scoring two runs.

Emmaus Junior Varsity Green Hornets added four more runs in the bottom of the third inning on three hits. Fleetwood hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Davis was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Spagna homered to right field, scoring two runs.

Ryan Gil stepped on the bump first for Emmaus Junior Varsity Green Hornets. The starting pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out one and walking one. Starlin Abreu began the game for Whitehall Junior Varsity Zephyrs. The pitcher gave up six hits and 10 runs over two and one-third innings, striking out one and walking three. Luke Harris, Dylan Haughney, and Dalton Tabako each came on in relief for Emmaus Junior Varsity Green Hornets and shutdown Whitehall Junior Varsity Zephyrs.

Spagna provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Emmaus Junior Varsity Green Hornets with three runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 2-for-2 on the day.

Griffin Peters, Kane Braun, Tony Arnold, and Kam Morris each collected one hit for Whitehall Junior Varsity Zephyrs.

JV with an 8-3 win over Parkland!⚾️🐝💚

Emmaus Junior Varsity Green Hornets outsted Parkland Junior Varsity Trojans 8-3 on Monday.

Emmaus Junior Varsity Green Hornets got on the board in the third inning after Justin Spagna drew a walk, scoring one run.

Emmaus Junior Varsity Green Hornets scored six runs on four hits in the bottom of the sixth inning. Jon DePhillips grounded out, scoring two runs, Spagna singled, scoring two runs, and Owen Herrity singled, scoring two runs.

Sully Hochbein earned the win for Emmaus Junior Varsity Green Hornets. The righty allowed one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out four and walking four. Brooks Wetherhold took the loss for Parkland Junior Varsity Trojans. The pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, giving up two runs on three hits, striking out three and walking five. Ryley George pitched one inning of scoreless ball for Emmaus Junior Varsity Green Hornets in relief. The righty gave up one hit, striking out none and walking none.

Spagna provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Emmaus Junior Varsity Green Hornets with two runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Herrity and Chase Evans each collected two hits for Emmaus Junior Varsity Green Hornets. Emmaus Junior Varsity Green Hornets had patience at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. Steve Hodge and Spagna led the team with two bases on balls each. Sam Fleetwood, Evans, and Spagna each stole multiple bases for Emmaus Junior Varsity Green Hornets. Emmaus Junior Varsity Green Hornets stole nine bases in the game. Emmaus Junior Varsity Green Hornets turned one double play in the game.

Zachary Seyler led Parkland Junior Varsity Trojans with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 1-for-3 on the day. Seyler, Nolan Kishbaugh, Caleb Ferrick, Samuel Sullivan, and Trayton Ryan each collected one hit for Parkland Junior Varsity Trojans.

Emmaus Junior Varsity Green Hornets will travel to Muhlenberg Junior Varsity Muhls for their next game on Tuesday.
