JV takes down Whitehall 11-1! ⚾️🐝💚

Emmaus Junior Varsity Green Hornets defeated Whitehall Junior Varsity Zephyrs 11-1 on Tuesday thanks in part to seven runs in the second inning. Steve Hodge was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Sam Fleetwood drew a walk, scoring one run, Parker Davis singled, scoring two runs, Justin Spagna singled, scoring one run, and Jackson Marsh singled, scoring two runs.
Emmaus Junior Varsity Green Hornets added four more runs in the bottom of the third inning on three hits. Fleetwood hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Davis was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Spagna homered to right field, scoring two runs.
Ryan Gil stepped on the bump first for Emmaus Junior Varsity Green Hornets. The starting pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out one and walking one. Starlin Abreu began the game for Whitehall Junior Varsity Zephyrs. The pitcher gave up six hits and 10 runs over two and one-third innings, striking out one and walking three. Luke Harris, Dylan Haughney, and Dalton Tabako each came on in relief for Emmaus Junior Varsity Green Hornets and shutdown Whitehall Junior Varsity Zephyrs.
Spagna provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Emmaus Junior Varsity Green Hornets with three runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 2-for-2 on the day.
Griffin Peters, Kane Braun, Tony Arnold, and Kam Morris each collected one hit for Whitehall Junior Varsity Zephyrs.
