Breaking News 🚨 Earlier this morning Kyle Meyers, the CEO of Silverback, a San Francisco firm known for putting on Bay to Breakers, sent an email to city parks officials on Monday withdrawing the permit application his company filed to host the boxing event next month outside of San Francisco City Hall. Silverback had acted as the local representative for iVisit Boxing, a U.K. company that spearheaded the event. Meyers told the Chronicle that the decision was motivated by “growing logistical concerns.”

It’s unclear whether iVisit Boxing and its proprietor, Ed Pereira, can move forward with the event without Silverback, which helped the company navigate City Hall. San Francisco Mayor Lurie had backed the plans as part of his efforts to bring fun to San Francisco and stimulate its economy. He joined Pereira at a press conference in January, and last month his big events director, Ellie Schafer, attended another media event that Pereira hosted to announce the fight card, headlined by flyweights .olascuaga and
Lurie is now calling on iVisit Boxing to reimburse people who bought tickets for the event, which were listed between $60 and $6,000 online.

Ben Shaloam’s promotional company filed a lawsuit against and for alleged unlawful contractual interference. BOXXER is seeking an injunction in English courts to block the American upstart from using fighters and who were allegedly under exclusive contract or matching rights agreements in the UK 😳Although not named in the legal action, BOXXER intends to argue that Jack Massey, who faces Cheavon Clarke in Saturday’s Zuffa co-feature, has at least one fight remaining with the UK-based promotion as well. BOXXER is asking for injunctive relief in the British courts against Zuffa and the broadcaster Sky Sports, which is showing Saturday’s card and previously had an exclusive media rights agreement with BOXXER.

💔🕊️ The boxing community is mourning the loss of Isaías “El Artillero” Rodríguez.

The 23-year-old boxer passed away on Thursday while receiving intensive care after suffering a traumatic brain injury during a professional boxing event in Cuatro Ciénegas. He fought bravely for six days following the injury before succumbing to its complications.

At Supreme Boxing, we extend our deepest condolences to Isaías Rodríguez’s family, friends, loved ones, trainers, and everyone affected by this heartbreaking loss. This tragedy is a solemn reminder of the courage and sacrifices that fighters make every time they step into the ring in pursuit of their dreams.
