In far too many human arenas, we live in troubling times. Disrespect, fear, misunderstanding, and hate find fertile grown. Disgusting vitriol, unfortunately, is taken for the truth, when in reality, it's not!

The following poem is one of 77 original poems from my "Coming Together in Harmony" Audio and Softbound book, entirely written by me. It is a component of my Bullies Be Gone! Project for ages 9-17 and adults. www.antibullyingexpert.com.

HOW DIFFERENT ARE WE?

How different are we, other than hair, eyes, maybe accent, or color of skin?

Are any of these the most important traits that determine the quality of a human being or one we eagerly choose as a close friend?

How different are we? Maybe your culture, entertainment, or choice of music is totally contrary to mine.

The goodness of human beings should not be determined by the culture or entertainment they prefer. Having different preferences in life does not make one any less refined.

How different are we? I seek the good life and the American dream.

The most recent poll taken says although your race is different from mine, you want exactly the very same thing.

How different are we? Actually, we’re probably more alike than either one of us has ever taken time to recognize.

We both smile from ear to ear, when at the amusement park, we win for our kids that eagerly anticipated special prize.

So, really, how different are we? In so many ways, not much at all, if we open our minds and hearts, then take the precious time to see.

Because, if we look only at what we consider to be our differences, we’ll miss the opportunity for harmony, understanding, friendship, tolerance, and even love, that could be warmly shared by you and me.

All of my Anti-bullying, Social skills, and Racial Harmony poetry and music in my Bullies Be Gone! Project (www.antibullyingexpert.com) Comprehensive Curriculum is original, entirely written by me.

Objective: Self-Empowerment WORDS, PHRASES, & STANZAS to eliminate and prevent bullying and to send powerful messages to Bullies, strongly encouraging them to cease their inappropriate behavior.

Growing up as a child, teen, and young adult in AK & MO during times of overt and mandated racial segregation; 4 years in the U.S. Navy, honorably discharged; 25 years of teaching Special Education at the high school level and holding a masters degree in the subject; achieving the level of Master of the martial arts, and teaching my anti-bullying program to thousands of children, teens, and adults since 1985, comprise my unique Bullies Be Gone! Project curriculum content for schools, grades 4-12.

FIGHTING is NEVER taught in my program as a way to solve a bullying problem, and highly discouraged.

With that: My post to follow, where a message is being sent poetically to the Bully by another kid could resonate and begin changing a life of a victim of bullying, a potential victim, and/or the Bully themselves.

Use "YOU'RE THE WEAK ONE" as you deem appropriate with a child or teen you may know, teach, or raising.

In my program, students are taught how to take the poems in the program and use them in numerous ways for effective anti-bullying and proper social skills sustainability and training, and classroom appropriate academic participation.

YOU’RE THE WEAK ONE

You’re the weak one, you’re a bully. The weak one is for certain, not me.

The bully is always the weak one, but your weakness, you can’t seem to clearly see.

So, I’m going to try and shed a little light on your weak and inappropriate ways.

Your weakness began on your very first bullying day.

Your false sense of power is not strength at all; it’s a cry for help

desperately trying to breakthrough.

Actually, I feel a little sorry for you.

Weak bullies like you always seek to find other kids they can dominate.

Bullies do this with vicious words, distasteful actions, and misguided hate.

Is being a weak bully the banner you want to always carry, as the precious years of your life quickly pass by?

Get rid of the Bully banner forever; create one that shows respect, understanding, and tolerance for others, and always proudly hold your magnificent new banner very high.

TOO MANY PEOPLE JUST DON’T CARE!

Too many people just don’t care about others,
especially if they’re of a different race or shade of skin.

Too many people just don’t care! They see the world almost never from without, but almost always and incorrectly, from within.

Too many people just don’t care if someone’s life is negatively affected, simply because of the race they happen to be.

Too many people just don’t care! Their primary concern is not about respect or understanding for others, but only about their household and the reflection in the mirror they see.

Too many people just don’t care! They’ve concluded they’re in no way responsible for those they declare to be uneducated and misguided fools.

However, every one of us should care, if only in a small significant way. Heartfelt concern for all deserving humanity, no matter their race, is one of the greatest accomplishments in life any human being can do!
