95 years. 95 lessons. One extraordinary legacy.

To celebrate Hal Higdon’s 95th birthday at the end of June, we’re launching a special June series: 95 Years, 95 Lessons a collection of the insights, wisdom, and moments that have shaped Hal’s life and inspired generations of runners.

We’re starting with Lesson #1: your first mile.

Because every runner has a moment — a first mile that changed everything. The mile where you stopped thinking “I’m not a runner”… and started becoming one.

Now we want to hear yours.

Share your story, photo, or memory of your first mile — the one that started it all — and tag us on Instagram at and so we can celebrate it with you.

Here’s to 95 years of lessons… and the miles that started them all.

Finding the Groove features enlightening interviews with 27 leading drivers of the 1970s. From NASCAR and Indy all the way to drag and street racing, author Hal
