The Long Beach Country Club 9 Hole Golf League held their annual guest day on Thursday, July 16th. The themed event was “Running With the Bulls”. A cocktail party was held the night before at the Long Beach Country Club featuring bullish, Spanish style appetizers.

The golf event on Thursday was a 9 hole scramble. A breakfast buffet started off the day and golf was followed by a Spanish style lunch menu of various paellas. Colors of the day were red, black and white.

Winners of the day were:

Days of Downton at Long Beach Abbey. June 24, 2014.

The Days of Downton

Yorkshire country weather, the beauty of Long Beach Abbey, the hospitality of the Earl of Godfrey (aka Brian Godfrey, PGA Head Professional), Duchess of Corbett (aka Annette Corbett, General Manager), Executive Chef Jason Schroeder, and the Esteemed Abbey Staff all set the scene for the members of the 18-Hole Women Golfers and their illustrious guests as they strolled among the links of Long Beach Country Club for guest day on June 24, 2014.


To set the stage for the event the evening before, the annual Pre-Party with Pimms & Cheer was held on the Grand Pavillion under the Tent, with the ladies dressed in their finest aristocratic attire. Looking forward to their “jolly” good time on the golf course the next morning, guests first enjoyed a brunch of Scotch eggs and scones, and following golf and awards, a final feast of Cucumber Granita, Beef Wellington and “Battleship” Brittania, a dark chocolate mousse that featured a crème engaze center.

The Days of Downton at Long Beach Abbey was a true post-Edwardian era event!

Avast ye Ladies, LBCC 6-Hole League resumes Tonight!

Monday play for the following dates: June 9, 16, 30. July 7, 14, 21 & 28. Meet at clubhouse at 4:45PM for play at 5PM. Call the Pro-shop to let them know you will be joining us @ (219) 872-8547.

Please remember the Rules: You must play at least 3-Holes, or meet us at the bar for drinks and dinner at 7PM.
