MOHAWK VALLEY DIAMONDDAWGS | 2027 ASSISTANT COACH

The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Coach for the 2027 summer season.

The DiamondDawgs compete in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) and provide college baseball players with an opportunity to continue developing their skills, compete at a high level and prepare for their next season.

Position Responsibilities:
• Assist the coaching staff with all aspects of daily baseball operations
• Assist with practices, game preparation and in game coaching
• Work directly with players on skill development and preparation
• Assist with pitching, hitting, defensive and positional instruction based on experience
• Help create a competitive, organized and positive team environment
• Assist with player communication and day to day team responsibilities
• Represent the DiamondDawgs and the PGCBL in a professional manner both on and off the field

Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for someone who is passionate about baseball, enjoys working with college athletes and understands what it takes to help players improve.

Previous collegiate coaching experience is preferred, but we will consider candidates with strong playing, coaching or player development backgrounds.

The ideal candidate is hardworking, organized, dependable and willing to be involved in all aspects of a summer collegiate baseball program.

Former Mohawk Valley DiamondDawg Nick Cimillo has been named the International League Player of the Week for September 14–20, Minor League Baseball announced today.

Cimillo, a first baseman for the Indianapolis Indians, had a monster week at the plate, hitting .381 (8-for-21) with four doubles, two home runs, 13 RBI, seven runs scored and a 1.301 OPS.

His 13 RBI were the most among all minor league players during the week.

The 26-year-old capped the week with a grand slam on Friday night, his second grand slam of the 2026 season. Cimillo posted multi-RBI performances in each of the first four games of the series and recorded back-to-back four-RBI games on September 17 and 18.

Cimillo has been just as impressive throughout September, hitting .333 (18-for-54) with six doubles, a triple, six home runs, 23 RBI, 13 runs scored and a 1.202 OPS over 15 games. He recorded at least one hit in 13 of those 15 games and had seven multi-RBI performances.

Mohawk Valley Diamond Dawgs’ Connor Scanlon Earns PGCBL Second Team All-League Honors

LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. – The Mohawk Valley Diamond Dawgs are proud to announce that first baseman Connor Scanlon has been named to the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) Second Team All-League following an outstanding 2026 season.

Scanlon was recognized as one of the league’s top first basemen after serving as a consistent offensive force and dependable defensive presence throughout the summer. His production at the plate, combined with his leadership and reliability in the field, made him a key contributor to the Diamond Dawgs’ success during the 2026 campaign.

Throughout the season, Scanlon delivered timely hits, provided steady run production, and anchored the infield with outstanding defensive play at first base. His work ethic, competitive spirit, and commitment to the team earned the respect of teammates, coaches, and opponents alike.

“We’re extremely proud of Connor and this well-deserved recognition,” said Diamond Dawgs President Travis Heiser. “Connor was a tremendous asset to our club all season. Mohawk Valley Diamond Dawgs’ Jake Haarde Named PGCBL First Team All-League

LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. – The Mohawk Valley Diamond Dawgs are proud to announce that outfielder Jake Haarde has been selected to the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) First Team All-League following an outstanding 2026 season.

Haarde established himself as one of the league’s premier offensive players, leading the PGCBL with 55 hits and 15 doubles while posting an impressive .382 batting average. He also crossed the plate 37 times and finished the season with a league-leading 81 total bases, consistently providing a spark at the top of the Diamond Dawgs lineup.

Throughout the summer, Haarde combined outstanding offensive production with dependable defense and relentless effort, making him one of the most complete players in the league. His ability to consistently get on base, drive the ball into the gaps, and produce in key situations played a major role in Mohawk Valley’s success.

“We couldn’t be more proud of Jake and all that he accomplished this season,” said Diamond Dawgs President Travis Heiser. “His work ethic, consistency, and commitment to excellence made him one of the best players in the league. This recognition is well deserved, and we look forward to following his continued success.”
