Getting the opportunity to be with my daughter June at Nike Outdoor Nationals in Eugene, OR is beautiful art I get to be a part of. Watching all of these kids is a collective masterpiece.
As we get older, we tend to put away our running shoes, both literally and metaphorically. We accept the world as it is and settle into the quiet corners of our lives. We start treating our grandest ambitions like museum pieces from our past.
But watching her out there completely reshaped my perspective. Her passion rekindles my own. It reminded me that getting older doesn’t mean we have to stop taking advantage of life’s opportunities.
If you’ve spent years believing that your time to chase dreams is over, let this be your wake-up call. The finish line isn’t here yet. Get back out there, get off your ass, and find that f**k’in dog. If you got that last line, then you’re old enough to understand this message.
