Nutrition Tip of the Week: Eat Protein First
When you're hungry, it's easy to reach for whatever is quickest. Unfortunately, that often means foods that leave us hungry again an hour later.
This week's challenge is simple:
Eat your protein first at every meal.
Protein is one of the most important nutrients for overall health, muscle recovery, energy, and appetite control. It helps you stay fuller longer, supports lean muscle mass, and can reduce the urge to snack throughout the day.
Why It Works
When you prioritize protein first, a few things happen:
✅ You feel satisfied sooner
✅ Blood sugar stays more stable
✅ Cravings are often reduced
✅ Recovery from workouts improves
✅ It becomes easier to hit your daily protein goal
Simple Ways to Do It
Instead of building your meal around carbs or snacks, start with a protein source:
• Eggs at breakfast
• Greek yogurt as a snack
• Chicken, turkey, fish, or lean beef at lunch and dinner
• Cottage cheese
• Protein shakes when you're on the go
• Tofu, tempeh, or edamame for plant-based options
This Week's Challenge
Before every meal, ask yourself:
"Where is my protein?"
Try to get 20–30 grams of protein at each meal and make it the first thing you eat on your plate.
Small habits done consistently create big results. Focus on adding before restricting, and watch how much easier it becomes to manage hunger, energy, and recovery.
Progress doesn't come from perfection—it comes from practicing simple habits that you can repeat every day.
