BAHAMAS 2026: The Recap
Once again, we are fresh off the heels of another great trip with CBD! Our Bahamas trip was one for books!
We landed in Nassau and were whisked away on a shuttle to the dock, where we were greeted by Captain James and his crew. We made our way through the marina to our “home” for the coming week, the All Star Aqua Cat. What a beautiful liveaboard! Our floating hotel was more than we dreamed. The cabins were large, with lots of room to spread out. We quickly unpacked and then set up our dive gear on the dive deck; the one and only time we had to set up our gear for the week. After that, we were ready to dive at any given moment. There was plenty of room to set up cameras and stow gear in our own cubbies. We enjoyed a lovely dinner and afterwards, a detailed briefing about the boat and our itinerary for the week.
Sunday morning came and we were off to a superb week of diving! We saw an abundance of marine life and at least one shark on every dive. Some of the highlights of the week were diving the Blue Hole, Periwinkle Reef, Jakes Hole and the Austin Smith Wreck with that giant grouper that hung around and posed for pictures. And let’s not forget, the Washing Machine (I can still hear the crew yelling, “DIVE, DIVE,DIVE”!!!)! One of the coolest dive sights in the Bahamas, for sure. There were plenty of things to do for divers and non-divers. Who can forget swimming with the pigs and Squishy, the sweetest stingray, who delicately ate right from your hand! There were also hiking, snorkeling and paddle board adventures throughout the week.
Congratulations to our iron divers (those with the stamina to do all 27 dives), those making milestone dives, and a few photo contest winners! The week was awesome! The crew, the boat, and the chef were top-notch. We were truly pampered on the Aqua Cat! It was great meeting new friends and catching up with old ones. All in all, it was a great time, and we will certainly be planning more liveaboard trips with All Star.
