The Nutcracker Magical Christmas Ballet audition is 1 WEEK AWAY🩰🐭

Chicago Music and Dance International would like dancers with ballet experience between the ages of 6 and up to audition to be part of this performance opportunity, without having to travel too far to practices or audition.

Auditions will be held Sunday, September 6th at the dance studio. It is $10 to audition.

Ages 6-9 will audition between 9:30-10am
Ages 10+ will audition between 10-10:30am

Dancers should attend in proper ballet attire, black leotard, pink tights, ballet shoes. Older dancers en pointe should plan on bringing those shoes as well. If you are interested in auditioning but are unable to attend, you can submit your audition form via email to [email protected], and they will contact you with another date and time.

A few things to remember:
1. This is NOT a studio (Algonquin Academy) event. The studio space is just being used to help give more dancers the opportunity to participate. If you have questions or concerns you will need to contact the CMDI production company.
2. This is a professional production. The cast is set by the CMDI production company and there will be cuts based on the number of dancers who audition.
3. Dancers from all studios are welcome to audition, so if you have friends who dance elsewhere but would be interested please spread the word.
4. Once the production company sets the cast, they will communicate updates to you!

Our studio is very excited to host and give young dancers the opportunity to be part of a professional production, and of course, spread the love of Ballet!! Dancers will register for auditions through our studio link below. You must find the September 6th date and click on the link to register in order to participate in the audition. Just added... Earlier Class Options😊

You asked and we listened! We've added additional class options for two of our most popular dance classes! We'd love to have your dancer join us for these fun classes.

Bop n' Hop - Tuesdays 3:30-4:15pm

Bop n' Hop is an introduction to hip hop for our dancers ages 5-8. This class teaches basic stretching, movement, and rhythm. Black hip hop sneakers, a studio shirt, and stretchy or athletic bottoms are required.

Musical Theatre 1 - Fridays 3:30-4:15pm

Musical Theatre 1 is the perfect class for young actors and actresses to explore dance for the stage. This class teaches various styles of dance that can be found in theatrical and Musical productions alike! Musical Theatre 1 is for ages 7 and up.
