Our last guests of the season were the big winners of our raffle donation to the Tower Ridge tournament, part of the Wisconsin State tour. Justin Dietrich of Eau Claire (center) drew the lucky ticket, providing his friends with a weekend in Stickeen cabin. It was their first time at Sandy Point, and they could not have been more gracious and kind. Thanks all, hope to see you again.

Today we VOTED. Then celebrated with 27 holes of in the UP. The North Bluff course is just outside of Escanoba. It's a top 100 course and ranked 5 in Michigan. It was SO worth the 3.5 hour drive! It was a little windy so we worked our reliable Destroyers again and just LOVE how they fly! Great course--Beautifully designed--Great day.

FISHING REPORT: Our long-time guest who goes by the moniker "Big Musky John" reports he hooked two 20+ pounders this week on Amber Lake.

"This was my best year yet," he said proudly. John and his wife Bev and their darling dog, Phoenix, spend two weeks with us each fall. They are from Indiana and often claim they'll be back every year until they can't.

Amber Lake is a Class A musky lake. It's always a thrill to see the action of a musky on the line. Good work, John!

At right is 4-time PDGA World Champion, 5-time US champion, and 4-time PDGA Player of the Year, Des Reading. Fun fact: Her first FPO win was the 7th Northwoods Open in 2000 here at Sandy Point. She is one of the best in women's sports, is fantastic on the mic, and is our dear friend.

Her message: "Girls, women... let's play some . It's here for us!"

Shout out to our gal, Phaedra Allen, disc golfer, model, and champion knitter. Phaedra modeled several of her creations at the Black Purl,llc Fall Fashion Show in Wausau this week. Many of you have seen Phaedra creating magic with her knitting needles as she works our shop on busy summer Saturdays. She is amazing.

Black Purl has been celebrating the art of modern knitting for 30 years. Over 50 works of art walked the runway at what has to be the coolest event space in Wausau.
