Not properly trained During an active shooter. Guard had cover, he had concealment, and he had time to OODA loop and determine the best way to engage the threat, instead, this is what happened. In a state of panic when you are not trained, your brain's fight or flight will take over.

While this met the criteria for authorized use of deadly force, there is so much wrong with this situation. There were two cops standing behind her doing absolutely nothing. She was four feet tall and six feet wide, And that jiggly little dance she was doing moving forward did not look aggressive. and yes, she had already assaulted two people, killing 1 who were not aware of their surroundings and that isn't their fault but law enforcement needs to have a much better understanding of defensive tactics and unarmed combatives. There were 7 officers on site, two of them behind her, Doing absolutely nothing. They couldn't do anything? I've seen officers before in the exact same situation take control without having to end someone's life.

I say this because December of 2024, I had a similar situation and it could have very easily ended like this but it didn't end like this because I had the skills and the mindset to handle it effectively and correctly.
