Ohana Kayak Rentals

I'm writing this not as a advertisement or means to make money as I have no income and have not been renting any kayaks. Please use and check satellite maps out on google. To see and know the ways out that aren't over the reef. Please do not kayak over the reefs. Kaneohe bay has lots a barrier reefs that come up to the surface of the water and the waters not always deep enough to kayak over the reefs. There are lots of island reefs that people trample alll over please don't trample over or kayak over the reefs. It's easy to look on your Google satellite maps and see the reefs to avoid them. Pictured below, The red is reefs and the green is a clear path out if going from the peir as alot of renters go from there. I heard the people don't tell them about the area please at least take time to beware of the area windalert.com is a great tool to use aswell for wind speed and directions and is pretty up to date usually within an hour. I'm am sharing this because it deeply bothers me to see people walking on the reefs, breaking protective barries down makes corals more subseptible to disease. (Our slow growing )Coral reefs or on the decline all over the world please protect them by not ever touching them. Walking on reef is also potentially dangerous, you could accidently bump a morary eel.

Don't walk on the Reef don't anchor to it its illegal you could incur finds with all new enforcement. Don't tread water next to reefs. If you can't swim flat stream line on surface of water calmly effortlesly you have no business snorkeling next to reefs. Lots of moray Eels in our reefs they have two mouths you wouldent want to accidently bump into one. if you see a eel stay calm stream line it's fine keep your hands and fins to yourself. Bumping touching the reef cause the protective barrier to wear off and allows disease in to the reef. Enjoy but have kuelena to malama responsibility to take care.

These people rented from another kayak rental company they were walking all over one of the reef islands they thought was the sandbar. The harbor master went out there to tell them to leave they did not and were still out there standing on the reef island 30 mins after she got back. At least when I rented I told people what they needed to know to take care of the area to do no harm.

Closed now I was find $35,000 because of a karen couple type distant neighbor and their friends complaining to neighberhood board then concilmembers then BLNR. The couple drove up and down the road several times a day out of there way to try to bother me and harassing customers by also taking pictures of my permitted by dpp and the state. They took pictures of anyone with kayak on there car and tryied to say it was changing the character of the neigborhood. A law also passed saying you could not deliver within 1000 feet of the bay because my house is within 1000 feet of the bay they said I was delivering and prpositioning kayaks for higher even though on my property. Yet when I ask dovar dlnr if I was within 100 feet after kamaaina kids shut down district manager did not wish to answer my questions when I was just trying to see if I was doing anything wrong and if so what was it?. I had no idea was doing anything wrong if i thought i was i wouldent of. They found me AS IF I WAS A COMMERCIAL BUSINESS IN THE Water when I am not. I even have in transcript writing voice to text from a message dobar district manager left for me that my kayak business did not require or need a commercial use in water permit which has been unavailable since 90s. Multiple times dobar said they didn't have jurisdiction out of the water. Even complainer said when they called to complain there were advised what I was doing was legal Greg menu's 1hour 16 min in neighborhood board meeting kahaluu January hour 20 in. Dlnr counciled me I did not need commercial use permit renting from my house. Criminal Citation from 2/24/24 was contested and dismissed. Lawyer counsiled I did not break any laws to continue business. Dlnr/dobar said they didn't have jurisdiction after cease desist letter when I contacted them ask by call and by email was sent never answered. Said I only got because of complaint and they could not provide me any example how I broke law or cease disist order.. Only that cease letter said I was violating law. But would not dive example of how. This is Bad governance it was a witch trial. descrimination. I was not allowed the time needed to talk and defend my self Blnr board members had there mind made up before even listening or knowing facts. The cease disist letter said I couldn't advertise Kaneohe Bay or do business in water which, I was not doing. They said because reviews mentioned the sand bar that was advertisement. There were other companies advertising kaneohe bay sandbar self guided tours $89 main headline is what I think of a advertisement a correspondence should not be considered a punishable by law advertisement. People should be able to rent t a kayak for ant safe navigable waters by right of laws to enjoy to recreate is sacred too.

Don't touch corals ever not even accidently. You should never tread water by reefs you should be pefectly streamline flat on surface of the water and don't get too close to the reef. You also don't want to accidently bump an eel
