WE ARE OPEN EVERY DAY NOON TO 8pm. $15 all day for adults, $10 all-day age 16 and under. Climbing shoes required; no bare feet or street shoes on the mats. Located on the corner of Keawe and Kalakaua in downtown Hilo one block up from the Tsunami Museum, parking is typically available on Kalakaua or Kinoole. Pāʻani VR Virtual Reality lounge is a part of Big Island Climbing. We offer VR experiences

for all ages. VR is $20 per hour and available on a walkin basis on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Be sure to check our website for special events and private parties. We have 800 sq. of bouldering, to 14 ft. This space is great for climbers of all ages including younger or beginning climbers, as well as advance/expert routes using our choice selection of nicros holds and different shaped volumes. Alphabet Soup is located here where Donna Nichols provides administrative needs including Notary services, copies, business cards, ancestry searches and a myriad of office related needs. We are building this Center for the Hilo community. We want to provide engaging and healthy activities for all to enjoy. We are a for-profit business that will embrace and help like-minded non-profit organizations on an on-going basis as a regular part of doing business. Climbing Camp starts June 29! It's the perfect place for kids aged 7 to 13 to explore their climbing abilities, make new friends, and have a blast in a safe, supportive environment. Whether your child is new to climbing or has some experience, they'll stay active, build confidence, and enjoy a summer of adventure! $300 for non-members (but then you get a 1 year membership! that includes shoe rental) and $150 for folks already a member (and we add on another year of membership).
Can't do every day? $65 per day - but advance notice is required.
There might be free openings as well; we are taking requests.
Deadline for signup is June 26.

One of the things we are proudest of is helping make climbing accessible to youth across Hawai‘i Island.

Through our program Climbing for Keiki and Adventure Centers Hawai‘i, many hundreds of free climbing sessions have been provided to underserved youth, schools, foster families, homeschool groups, and community organizations.

🎉 BIG ISLAND CLIMBING IS TURNING 5! 🎉

Five years ago, we opened our doors in Hilo with a dream of creating a welcoming indoor bouldering community for Hawai‘i Island.

Since 2021, thousands of climbers have walked through these doors — kids, families, beginners, experienced climbers, visitors, and people simply looking for connection and confidence.

We’ve watched friendships form, fears overcome, and lives change through climbing.

5 year Anniversary... we've never raised our prices ever since we opened. We've held off as long as we can. Get your membership now before prices go up on June 1.
They're still really cheap compared to every other Bouldering Gym.
