Here’s a move I came up with because I love the pillow choke, plus the octopus guard is a very viable option when you’re on the bottom. I’ve had success with this and I’m sure if you’re an octopus guy, you will too.

This is for my man Jeron Bray who introduced me to octopus guard years ago before anyone was ever talking about it.

Art will get back in the cage Oct. 24 and look to bring some news skills with this performance. He had a great debut and looks to be even better this fight and bring his record to 2-0.

Here’s an escape from kesa-gatame
The torque you get from that bottom hook will pull you out of it. A lot of guys want to get the top hook but the bottom they don’t see coming and creates way more force to get you out.
I taught a whole series on kesa-gatame during nogi so I thought I should show some defense to it
