You might simply see a boy who is just in class. But what you don’t see is that this boy has worked so hard over the last several weeks, doing something completely new, at a new place, with new people, trying his best to follow and learn what was happening around him.

That can be A LOT for someone his age.

Yet, he did it. He kept showing up. He kept trying. He kept learning. And he did it so he could EARN his WHITE BELT.

At our school, nothing is simply given. You have to earn it. You earn it by doing your best, even when things are difficult or challenging.

So… what do you see now?

Do you see a boy who is PROUD and CONFIDENT in what he has accomplished over the last several weeks?

Because this is the moment he received his very first white belt🤍

Everything starts with small steps.

We are laying a solid foundation for our future generations, one small step at a time…☺️

Some days, grief feels so heavy. Yet somehow, it also reminds us of the love that connects us.

We are so grateful to have gathered together to honor and celebrate the beautiful life of Instructor Karole Huntley. Surrounded by our Kempo family, love, memories, and the breathtaking colors of Colorado, we couldn’t help but feel that she was there smiling down on us.

Grief is the price we pay for love, and what a beautiful reminder it is that love brings us together.

“This is fun.”
I’ve heard him say that several times. Sometimes he says it to his mom or dad, and sometimes he just says it to himself.

That is pure joy naturally coming out. He does Kempo not because he “has to,” but because he enjoys it. Even at 5 years old, he already understands that it is good for his mind, body, and spirit, even if he doesn’t quite know it yet.

Keep doing what makes you happy, little one, as that is the secret to making your everyday life precious and beautiful🩵

Our future is headed in the right direction.

These kids worked their hearts out at yesterday’s Belt Testing. We pushed them physically, challenged them mentally, and asked them to keep going even when they were very tired. Every single one of them persevered until the very end.

They are the future of our school, but more importantly, they are the future of our world. And let me tell you with confidence…Our world will be a better place when these kids become tomorrow’s leaders.

Congratulations to all the testers on advancing to the next level! We’re so proud of you.

English is a second language for this precious young boy. Even when he doesn’t understand every word, he watches carefully, observes, and keeps trying. That willingness to learn is resilience, and it’s a skill that will serve him for the rest of his life.

We also have incredible older students who step in without being asked. They encourage, teach, and help others succeed. That’s leadership.

At our school, we’re here to help people build a better life. Sometimes that’s through practical self-defense. Sometimes it’s building confidence. And sometimes… it’s simply helping a younger friend learn how to pronounce a few English words😉 That’s what being a Kempo family is all about🧡
