WEEKLY REFLECTION: CONSISTENCY BEATS THE PERFECT WEEK

We all start the week with a plan.

“I’m training five days this week.”

Then life happens.

Work gets crazy.
The kids need you.
You sleep through the alarm.
Your body feels beat up.
Something comes up that you didn’t plan for.

And suddenly that perfect five-day training week becomes three.

Here’s the mistake we make:

We look at those three days and focus on the two we missed instead of the three we showed up for. Fitness isn’t built through perfect weeks. It’s built by stacking good quality weeks over and over and over again.

Three days this week. Four days next week. Then five when life allows it. This happens because sometimes life simply kicks your ass. That’s okay. The goal isn’t perfection. The goal is to keep coming back.

Because the athlete who trains consistently for 50 imperfect weeks will accomplish far more than the athlete who keeps starting over every time they have an imperfect one.

So as this week comes to an end, don’t just look at what you missed. Look at what you did.

The classes you made.
The work you put in.
The choices you made.

Then wake up tomorrow and start stacking another week.

Consistency isn’t flashy. There usually isn’t a PR bell attached to it. But give it enough time, and consistency changes everything.

What does showing up consistently look like for you this week?

You already know what to do.

Stop holding back your potential by negotiating with comfort.

You know the workout you need to do.
You know the standard you’re capable of.
You know the habits that move you forward.

The only question is whether you’re willing to do what you already know needs to be done.

Comfort will always give you a reason to wait.

Don’t negotiate. Execute.

Another week is in the books.

Take a second to look back, not just at your workouts, but at the choices you made all week.

Did you take steps forward?
Did you take a few steps back?
Or maybe you stayed right where you were?

Either way, the important part is being honest with yourself and using it to move forward.

Progress isn’t always linear. Some weeks you hit PRs, feel great, and check every box. Other weeks, simply showing up is the win.

The goal isn’t to be perfect. The goal is to keep moving forward.

New week. New opportunity. What direction are you going?

Consistency beats perfection.

A huge shoutout to everyone who earned a spot in our Committed Club by making it to the gym 15 or more times in July!

Showing up isn’t always easy. Life gets busy, motivation comes and goes, and some days the couch looks pretty tempting. But progress belongs to the people who keep coming back anyway.

To everyone on this month’s board: congratulations. Your commitment is paying off, and your consistency inspires the people around you.

Didn’t make it this month? That’s okay. Every month is a fresh start, and August is already underway. Set the goal, stay consistent, and we’ll be celebrating you next.

Keep showing up. Keep putting in the work. The results will follow.

Success in the gym isn’t about keeping up with the person next to you. It’s about becoming better than the person you were yesterday.

Someone else’s chapter 20 has nothing to do with your chapter 1.

The only comparison that matters is between who you used to be and who you’re becoming.

Now, competition isn’t a bad thing. In fact, healthy competition can be one of the best tools for growth. It can push you to work harder, stay accountable, and discover what you’re truly capable of. But it should inspire you—not define your worth.

Maybe your victory today is your first push-up. Maybe it’s adding 50 pounds to your deadlift. Maybe it’s simply walking through the doors when you didn’t feel like it.

Every PR, every new skill, every workout finished, and every day you choose to show up is proof that you’re moving forward.

Don’t let someone else’s progress steal the joy from your own. Let it motivate you to become the best version of yourself, while remembering that your real competition is the person you were yesterday.

Keep showing up. Keep improving. Keep chasing progress.

Because the greatest victory isn’t beating someone else—it’s becoming someone better than you were before.
