FITNESS TIP FRIDAY: We’ve moved our time!
For all of my Beacon Lake participants, we are now back to a 9:30AM start time for Tuesday morning’s class. Come join us sometime at the Lake House…first class is always free.
In the meantime, here’s a great Yoga pose to try at home. Make sure you’re warm: this one’s perfect after a round of Pickleball or a walk outside. 🧘‍♀️💪😊

Due to summer traffic (and heat! Let’s not forget the heat!🥵) we are moving the Pilates/Yoga Fusion from 9:30 to 9:00 am for the time between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Haven’t popped in yet? Your first class is still FREE. All you need is a mat and a water bottle. And a smile! See you on the mat. 😊🧘‍♀️😎

FITNESS TIP FRIDAY:
When you live in Florida, it sometimes feels like Endless Summer (which I love) but where I live is actually a bit seasonal, and therefore we're getting ready to kick Summer off here too.
My last Wednesday evening class at Beacon Lake will be on Wednesday, May 25th at 6pm. We expect the Lake House to be brimming with fun in the summer sun...so we'll revisit the evening classes after Labor Day.
We are STILL THERE every Tuesday morning at 9:30am! Come join us for a 9:30am Pilates/Yoga Fusion. Class passes are welcome at either class and they don't expire. Hoping to see you there! 🧘‍♀️☀️

FITNESS TIP FRIDAY:
I often have people approach me about starting a new fitness program, and trying something new to them like Yoga or Pilates.
The class I’m currently teaching at Beacon Lake is a little bit of each, but the benefits are plenty.

What does YOGA do?
Actively holding a series of poses will stretch and strengthen your muscles, as well as the tendons and ligaments that hold your bones together. Mindful breathing makes it a kind of meditation, too. Yoga can help lower your heart rate and blood pressure and relieve anxiety and depression.
Plus, it’s FUN!

FITNESS TIP FRIDAY: Something is better than nothing.
I almost talked myself out of a workout yesterday. It was raining, so I couldn’t swim outside like I do most mornings; I was tired and didn’t have a whole lot of time. I procrastinated a bit but then decided to head over to the gym and do something.
I walked a mile on the treadmill and lifted a few weights. No biggie. Not nearly what I’ve done in the past and not close to what I’m capable of now. I was in and out in 45 minutes.
BUT…that something was still better than nothing, and I’m sharing this with you to encourage you.
Go out and do something to make your body feel better today.
I promise your body will thank you.

Your body will thank you for that too! 😊🧘‍♀️

For those of you missing my ridiculous sense of humor in NY, I have a great tip for you! My dear friend and colleague Mary is teaching an outdoor class in White Plains every Saturday morning at 8:30 am. Check out her and Gina at Spring in Fitness with Gina and Mary. They may not crack as many dumb jokes as I do...but your workout will be on point!

FITNESS TIP FRIDAY: It's been a long time! I sincerely hope all of my Fitness Friends have been keeping up with their fitness routines or creating new ones...staying in shape however you can in this crazy landscape. As the weather turns to warmer climates, I encourage you to get outside and exercise!
I've been asked once again about returning to the gym, as group exercise classes start to return here and there. My answer is, sadly, NO. I'm so sorry as I miss seeing so many of you, but I cannot in any way work out with a mask on.
(Note: I don't think you should be either)
If you'd like to talk to me about this, feel free to reach out here. I will tell you I am not about to debate this, however, as I have been in the Fitness Industry for 30 years and I know what I'm talking about.
Keep in mind that the people who make the rules are often NOT in the Fitness Industry!
In the meantime, I wish you well and hope you stay strong. If you're looking for a great outdoor class that doesn't require masks, feel free to message me here and I'll point you in the right direction.

Well! Apparently there were more than a handful of you eagerly awaiting the Emperor’s Gym Guidelines today, because I’ve been bombarded with texts, calls, emails, and DMs.
First of all, thank you all so much for reaching out and for still looking to do a class with me. It truly warms my heart.
That said: I will not be returning to NYSC at any point in the foreseeable future. 😐
I don’t feel that the Gov’s Guidelines are in line with my training philosophy and to be brutally honest with you...I’m not so sure all the NYSC locations will even reopen.
I am going to continue offering personal training sessions (indoors or out) plus Small Group Training sessions, both indoors and outside until the weather turns cold.
Please DM me here for pricing and further information.
I am hoping to get a Small Group Training together on Friday AMs at the Kensico Dam; more info on that as soon as I have it.

FITNESS TIP FRIDAY: Although I’ve been asked many times, I haven’t had time until now to consider holding Small Group Training Sessions or doing any PT...however...I’m going to start taking on a few clients now while the weather is still good outside. If you’re interested in getting together a small group of friends and you have the outdoor space for a socially distant yoga class...you can PM me here, and we’ll see if we can set something up.
I hope you’re all fabulous until we see each other again!
