✨BOARD MEMBER SPOTLIGHT✨

Introducing our Vice Chairperson of Hart Rec, Matt Fitch!

Why he joined: "I joined the Rec Board because there was a plea for board members and I wanted to get more involved in the community. I love sports and the opportunities that sports provide kids to grow and build character. I wanted to be a part of keeping those opportunities in Hart and the surrounding townships."

Fun fact: "We are trying to get to all 30 MLB stadiums. My wife and I are currently at 13 and the boys are just a few behind." ⚾️

Matt also coaches during the summer ball season! I believe his favorite sport is baseball-though that’s just a lucky guess! We wouldn’t be able to keep Hart Rec running without dedicated individuals like him stepping up. We appreciate and value his presence on our board. Thank you for everything you do, Matt! 🙂💪🏴‍☠️

Introducing our Treasurer of Hart Rec, Tim Hertzler!

Why he joined: "I joined rec to help keep the youth programs connected to the school programs."

Fun fact: "I still hold the high jump record at my high school in Keene, New Hampshire" 🥇

Tim plays a significant role at Hart Rec and also serves as the Athletic Director at Hart Public Schools. We are grateful for everything he does to ensure we can enjoy sports year-round. Thank you, Tim, for your dedication to Hart Rec and our school district! ⚽️🏀🏈⚾️🥎🏐

Introducing our Secretary of Hart Rec, Jill Tanis!

Why she joined: "I attended my first meeting and before I walked out the door, I was the new Secretary. They didn’t have a full Board and with 3 kids in the program, I thought it would be a good way to give back."

Fun fact: "I have lived in 8 towns in Michigan: Millington, Olivet, Marshall, Gwinn, Jackson, Grand Rapids, Muskegon and Hart - and my oldest daughter is a Yooper!" 🙀

You'll likely run into Jill and her family year-round at various sporting events, including wrestling, basketball, soccer, football, baseball, and softball (forgive me if I'm forgetting a sport, Tanis family). Thank you for being such an important part of Hart Rec, Jill! We appreciate you! 🏴‍☠️❤️🖤🤍
