Time for a First Aid Friday!
Where is your "Major Bleed Control" kit?
I recently moved all of my day job personal equipment into these Rigid Boxes to have a more weather proof system. That way, I didn't have to worry about leaving it in the back of a truck while driving through a rain storm, which was a big hassle with the previous "duffle kit" system I had before. The one problem I ran into with my new Rigid system is I didn't have a place to molle my "Major Bleed Control" kit on the outside. Because of that issue, I had to keep my MBC inside my middle box.
At first glance this doesn't seem like a big deal. It's out of the weather and protected inside a hard case, right?
BUT that also made it inaccessable to anyone but me, and honestly not quickly accessible for me. I would have to take the top box off, dig out my keys to unlock the middle box, and then grab the MBC kit out. Add onto that, the struggle of me trying to explain to someone else how to do all that if I cannot retrieve it myself.
After about a week of pondering, I came up with this as my best option currently. I did some shopping around and found a molle panel that I could mount on the outside of my Rigid boxes. The details of that aren't important, but what is important is that now my MBC and extra tourniquets are easily accessible to anyone who needs it fast. The next step is to vacuum seal all the kit components in individual bags so even when the kits gets soaking wet, the contents will be dry and safe.
So... Where is your MBC "Major Bleed Kit", and how fast can you get to it when seconds count?
