Today wasn’t about finding a comfortable pace.

It was about choosing to keep moving when your lungs were burning, your shoulders were tired, and the clock seemed to slow down.

100–130 burpees.
Then 75 power snatches in honor of Randy Simmons, a 27-year LAPD veteran and SWAT officer who gave his life in the line of duty.

Hero workouts remind us that what feels hard in the gym is a privilege. We get to challenge ourselves. We get to test our limits. We get to walk out stronger than we came in.

Today we honored Randy the best way we know how—one rep at a time.

Today’s workout wasn’t really about muscle-ups. It was about progression.

For some athletes, that meant 30 ring muscle-ups and 30 bar muscle-ups.

For others, it meant chest-to-bar pull-ups, pull-ups, banded pull-ups, jumping pull-ups, or ring rows.

The goal isn’t to stay where you’re comfortable. The goal is to keep moving toward the next step.

Too often we choose the movement we know we can do instead of the movement we’re trying to learn. Growth happens when we’re willing to struggle a little, fail a little, and trust the process.

Today’s workout was a reminder that every ring row can become a banded pull-up. Every banded pull-up can become a strict pull-up. Every pull-up can become a chest-to-bar. Every chest-to-bar can become a muscle-up.

Progress isn’t always flashy. It’s built one challenging rep at a time.

Murph is here. The workout everyone talks about, questions halfway through, and somehow signs up for again next year. Whether you’re doing it RX, scaled, partitioned, or just coming to cheer people on, we’re excited to spend the day with this amazing community.

Grab a partner, hit the run, jump on the bar, and repeat until communication becomes nothing but heavy breathing and bad decisions. Teamwork at its finest.

Tomorrow’s workout starts off with a simple question: “How attached are you to your shoulders and your lungs?” Because Coach chose violence… respectfully.

We’ve got heavy lifting, a little coordination test, and a workout that escalates faster than a group text before Murph. Expect chaos, missed jump ropes, dramatic staring at barbells, and at least one person saying, “I’m pacing myself,” before immediately abandoning that plan.
