Good morning, Hampton!

No weather report today. As we move into September, we’ll only be doing the Buckroe Beach weather reports on the weekends.

Our September hours are:

Friday: 12:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday: 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Sunday: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

We are closed Monday through Thursday.

For these final weekends at Buckroe Beach, we’ll be offering beach rentals, concessions, and beach retail. We will not be conducting paddle sports or eFoil lessons during our weekend business hours.

Private eFoil lessons are still available at our lesson locations and will continue as long as water temperatures and conditions remain comfortable enough to get out and ride.

We’ll still be posting throughout the week too. Sunrises, sunsets, eFoil rides, life around the water, and all the cool things that come with living around the Chesapeake Bay.

I also just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who followed along with our weather reports all summer. Every message, comment, and person who stopped by to tell us how much they enjoyed them or how much they helped really meant a lot.

We put a lot of time and effort into those updates, so seeing them really take off this year has been something special.

We still have a few more days left at Buckroe, so come see us. Grab some shade, stop by for an ice cream or a frozen treat, or just swing by and say hello.

Thank you, Hampton!

Thank you to everyone who came out and made Sunday such a special day for Green Wave Watersports. We truly appreciate all the support we've received this summer. Seeing so many people out enjoying Buckroe Beach was a pretty awesome way to close out the final Sunday of the summer season.

Just a reminder that after today, we'll be operating on our post Labor Day schedule and will only be open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through September, weather permitting.

Good morning Hampton!

Happy Labor Day! It is Monday, September 7, 2026, and Green Wave Watersports is open from 10 AM to 6 PM today.

It looks like another beautiful day at Buckroe Beach. Expect plenty of sunshine, comfortable temperatures, very little chance of rain, and a steady breeze coming off the water. It should feel great on the beach, so come soak up a little more summer.

With the steady breeze today, please make sure umbrellas, canopies, and other shade equipment are properly secured. We saw several umbrellas and large canopies blowing down the beach this weekend, which can become dangerous very quickly on a busy holiday beach.

The beach setup looks great, but the water will be a different story. Northeast and east northeast winds should keep the Chesapeake Bay pretty choppy for much of the day. That is not a favorable setup for paddle sports or eFoil lessons, so we will keep an eye on the actual water conditions.

The water temperature has dropped to 82.4 degrees. Small stingrays are still around the shallows, so keep an eye out and shuffle your feet through the sand as you wade in.

Tides:
Low 12:32 PM, 0.37 ft
High 6:56 PM, 3.15 ft

The UV Index reaches 7 from noon through 2 PM, which is considered high on the UV scale. Air quality is expected to remain good throughout the day.

We have 12 hours and 45 minutes of daylight, with sunset at 7:27 PM. The moon is a waning crescent at 14% illumination.

The evening looks beautiful for a beach walk, with clear skies, cooler temperatures, and a steady breeze around sunset.

Have a great Labor Day, Hampton!

Good morning Hampton!

It is Sunday, September 6, 2026, and Green Wave Watersports opens at 10 AM today.

It looks like another beautiful day at Buckroe Beach. Expect a mix of sun and clouds, comfortable temperatures in the low 80s, and very little chance of rain through most of the day. A steady northeast breeze will be noticeable along the shoreline, but it should feel pretty comfortable outside.

Water conditions will be something to watch today. The northeast wind should make things a little sloppy, especially this morning. Some forecasts show the wind easing during the afternoon, and the latest wind data supports that possibility. If it lays down enough, we could see a window for paddle sports or eFoil lessons. We’ll evaluate conditions case by case based on what the water is actually doing.

The water temperature has dropped from yesterday to 83.3 degrees. Small stingrays are still around the shallows, so remember to shuffle your feet as you wade in. I have not seen jellyfish in the past couple of weeks.

Tides:
Low 11:22 AM, 0.42 ft
High 5:48 PM, 3.08 ft

The UV Index peaks at 5 around 3 PM, which is considered moderate on the UV scale. Air quality should remain good through most of the afternoon before moving into the moderate range around 5 PM and staying there through the evening.

We have 12 hours and 47 minutes of daylight, with sunset at 7:28 PM. The moon is a waning crescent at 24% illumination.

The evening looks especially nice for a walk along the beach, with mostly clear skies, cooler temperatures, and a lighter breeze near sunset. Rain chances remain low through the day, although there is still a small chance of something developing later tonight.

Have a great Sunday, Hampton!

Quick Buckroe Beach update.

The beach has reopened, and people are currently allowed back on the sand and in the water.

We are still watching another round of potential storms that could move through around 4:40 p.m., so we’ll keep a close eye on the radar and update if conditions change.

For now, the beach is open.

Shade canopy is set up and ready to go!

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone at Buckroe Beach this holiday weekend. Come grab some shade, cool off with some ice cream or Philadelphia Water Ice, and check out our snacks, drinks, and other concessions.

If the weather and water conditions cooperate, we’ll also have paddle sports available and eFoil lessons going out.

Come spend the day with us and help us close out the season strong!

Good morning Hampton!

It is Saturday, September 5, 2026, and Green Wave Watersports opens at 10 AM today.

It looks like a pretty nice start to the day at Buckroe Beach. Temperatures are cooler than yesterday, with a mix of sun and clouds early. Most forecast models are showing storms later this afternoon, but there is still disagreement on timing. Some bring them in closer to 2 PM, while others hold them off until around 5 PM. We’ll keep a close eye on the radar throughout the day.

10 AM

Wind: Northeast 13.0 mph, gusts 14.0 mph
UV Index: Low

Water sports may have a small window right when we open, but the wind quickly settles into a north and northeast flow around 10 mph. That is not a favorable setup at Buckroe, so paddle sports and eFoil lessons will be evaluated case by case. The first hour or two still looks like our best opportunity before conditions become more questionable.

The water temperature has risen to 84 degrees. Small stingrays are still hanging around the shallows, so shuffle your feet as you wade in. With the water warming again, we may also start seeing a few jellyfish return.

Tides:
Low 10:08 AM, 0.43 ft
High 4:30 PM, 3.06 ft
Low 11:34 PM, 0.58 ft

The UV Index peaks at 8 around 1 PM, which is considered very high on the UV scale. Air quality should remain good through most of the day before moving into the moderate range around 5 PM.

We have 12 hours and 49 minutes of daylight, with sunset at 7:30 PM. The moon is a waning crescent at 34% illumination.

Have a great Saturday, Hampton!
