Another follow along this time giving this Enve Mog some TLC!
showcasing the headset replacement and bottom bracket replacement. But this bike got a good clean, clutch service, sealant check, drivetrain (chain\cassette\chainring)(don't forget those jockey wheels!) replacement, pedal service, and seatpost service.

Buying a sweet bike like this is only the first step! once these main stock bearings wear out it's a good idea to consider upgrading them for the best longevity and creak free reliability. And remember that everything still needs servicing.

We went with Ceramicspeed SLT headset bearings (self lubricating semi-solid sealed bearings to keep dirt from even entering) and an Enduro max BB (our favorite bombproof precision machined steel bb bearings with amazing seals to keep them well protected but still spinning well) 🤤

The first step is to unwrap the bar tape and disconnect hydraulics, I was really hoping we got lucky that the initial builder gave us enough hose length to play with because you lose about 1.5 cm of hose every time you have to cut

Had a shimano di2 wire to make things interesting as well. Thankfully we are well supplied with multiple chasing tools to keep track of them all!

They are magnetic on one side and thread into the hose on the other so no big deal if I lose the routing but this saves a bit of time.
disconnect once all the way through and voila! routing saved!

Now to the nitty gritty. this is all normal wear and tear stuff (especially with gravel bikes) but washing your bike and using a shower setting will help keep expensive bearing replacements from happening too often.

Don't be stingy with the grease. I'm using Shimano premium similar to (same as) the motorex stuff here. but really anything nice and thick with some staying power will do the trick.

On the way back together! connect those hoses back to the chasers and having a third hand is helpful pulling everything back through smoothly.

Come tomorrow to reserve and Saturday to pick up for tax free weekend! Anything 2500 and under qualifies so that's most of our bikes and E bikes! a couple carbon gravel bikes at that price point and also the new Trek Borrego fat tire high power E bike.

Closed on Sunday so make sure to call if you can't make it tomorrow or Saturday!

Another year another Bernardston bike Rodeo!

So far we just have a few saddles way too low, some tires in need of air, and brake adjustments!

Can't wait for ice cream on this humid day

Not the most organized of tools but got almost everything needed at the last minute after a busy week for what cropped up today. All except for a missing solid axle nut. May bring one next year! lol.

Pretty easy steerer tube cut. Always use a mask and\or soapy water and some masking tape. carbon blade works slick with the new Abbey saw guide a pleasure to use

Left plenty (50mm) of spacers to play with on the stack. That's usually my max with a carbon steerer. Plenty of grease on the headset bearings.

BSA BB went in smooth no notes no spacers needed

Had to scrounge around to the hyperglide+ 42t chainring but found one for this crazy light crank set. Using the trusty digital big boi topeak wrench for the ugga duggas.

Very interesting cable routing for this frame. Only carbon sheathed for the upper half then open, only possible with the "burrito box" hole to access. Rear brake easy guide by hand nothing fancy.

Fork less easy. Even without headset routing the magnet fishing tools always coming in clutch.

Don't pull too hard!

It wasn't until this point that I realized the frame and fork is native for 160 rotors, I'm used to always having to add an adapter to shimano rear brakes (sram come with) but test fit the wheels and saw I needed to take it off!

whiskey (now called teravail) tubeless tape is the best hands down, good stick, just the right amount of stretch. cutting an arrow like that we learned keeps it from peeling up!

12 speeds shimano cassettes are always finicky to make sure it's clocked right but shift like a dream. Also always make sure you have spare spokes if you have these aluminum I9 proprietary ones.

Once cable length is perfected always a pleasure to use a great barb tool (not expensive from ztto, and purple to boot)

Mechanical seatpost cable routing was where the real fun began.
