Greencastle Blue Devils Falls To W.C. East Varsity Vikings

GA 🥎fell to W.C. East , 5-1 on Monday.

W.C. East got on the board in the bottom of the fifth inning after Greencastle-Antrim Varsity Blue Devils committed an error, and Carly Bickle singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.

Ava Ferri earned the win for Vikings , starter surrendered four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out eight and walking none. Kiersten Swain took the loss. The starting pitcher went five innings, surrendering five runs (two earned) on eight hits, striking out three and walking two.

Serenity Goodman went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in!!!The Blue Devils turned one double play in the game.

The Blue Devils ended a very well played season at 19-5.

Congratulations Ladies and Coaches , on a great season!

The Blue Devils Win In Fashion, Walk It Off Versus Red Land !!!!

It came down to the wire on Thursday, as the Lady Blue Devils grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 4-3, over Red Land Varsity Patriots. The game was tied at three in the bottom of the seventh when Kindal Rice singled, scoring one run with bases juiced!

Minnie Gambacurta collected three hits in three at bats in the win. Gambacurta tripled in the sixth inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the fourth inning.

GA tied the game in the bottom of the sixth thanks to a triple by Gambacurta, and a ground out by Serenity Goodman.

Kiersten Swain earned the win !The starting pitcher allowed six hits and three runs (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out three and walking two. Addie Wagenheim took the loss for Red Red. The starter went six and one-third innings, allowing four runs on 10 hits, striking out two and walking one.

GA Blue Devils tallied 10 hits in the game. Rice led with four hits in four at bats! Swain collected two hits !

Way to come back Ladies! Great team effort !

The Lady Blue Devils will Host Redland , playing for 3rd or 4th place in Dist. 3 , 5A at GAHS 5/28 .
On Monday 6/1 GA 🥎 will begin their run at States , for the second year in a row!

Greencastle-Antrim Varsity Blue Devils Loses Despite Out Hitting Northern York Varsity Polar Bears

Varsity Blue Devils fell 10-6 to Northern York on Wednesday at Shippensburg University despite out-hitting them 13 to nine. Kiersten Swain led Greencastle-Antrim Varsity Blue Devils with three hits.

Northern York Varsity Polar Bears were the first to get on the board in the first when Trinity Artman singled, scoring two runs.

Northern added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Sabrina Paulin homered to center field, and Greencastle-Antrim Varsity Blue Devils committed an error, each scoring one run.

Greencastle scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth on a home run to center field by Kindal Rice.

Makenna Elliott earned the win for Northern York . The starting pitcher allowed nine hits and four runs over six and one-third innings, striking out two and walking two. Swain pitched four innings in relief for the Blue Devils. The pitcher surrendered three hits and two runs (zero earned) while, striking out four and walking one. Katie Zawilinski took the loss for GA . The hurler went three innings, giving up eight runs (six earned) on six hits, striking out one and walking two.

GA amassed 13 hits in the game. Rice drove the middle of the lineup, leading Greencastle
with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Minnie Gambacurta collected two hits in three at bats.
