It was bound to happen. I wasn't looking for a new project however it just happened. I knew moving closer to the ocean and its estuaries that I'd pick up ideas that I could translate to salmon and steelhead across north America. I came across a hook that we just HAD to bring to our customers. We will now be offering jigheads on Mustad 4X jig hooks. The initial offering is 3/8 and 1/2 oz in 3/0 on this tremendous hook. Smaller offerings in 1/8 and 1/4 will follow in a few weeks along with smaller bulk packs. Stump-puller is an understatement. Dredging the great lakes for ship wrecks is more appropriate. We're not in any way replacing our hooks, we're just giving you the option to swat a fly with a hammer if you choose to do so. The pictures feature the 4X mustad compared to the Voodoo magnum hook and the Mustad 32833 3/0 hook. Although the Mustad 4X is a 60 degree hook we spin it in our 90 degree molds keeping most of the weight forward allowing a balanced presentation.

During my fishing career I've put on a clinic for Canadian anglers and also had my ass handed to me by Canadian fisherman on a silver platter lol. Here's our question, how y'all doing? Our orders to Canada have dropped and political turmoil is the rule not the exception. We just wanted to check in on things North of the border.

The classic great lakes pattern flame red head with black, olive and white stripped down into a compact feather version. Perch, absolutely. Crappies, right on. Steelhead? Tie it on and give it a good YEET!! You won't be disappointed.

Some moments just hit a little different. 🎣

Seeing Matt Straw’s “Marabou Steel” in the current issue of In-Fisherman is definitely one of them.

I’ve had a tremendous amount of respect for Matt for a long time, not only for his knowledge of steelhead fishing, but for the years he has spent sharing that knowledge with anglers everywhere. To have the opportunity for Voodoo Custom Tackle to be even a small part of that world is something I truly appreciate and don’t take lightly.

It was an honor.

When you spend countless hours tying, testing, changing things, trying again, and building tackle because you genuinely love the sport, moments like this make all of those hours mean a little more.

Matt, thank you for the opportunity, the support, and for continuing to shine a light on the techniques, tackle, and people who keep all of us obsessed with chasing steelhead.

I’m proud of what I build, and incredibly grateful to see that work reach beyond my own tying bench.

Much respect, Matt. This was a pretty damn cool moment for me personally and professionally.

This has been a year of change for us. New home. New location. Brand new jig shop built on our property. It hasn't been easy but sometimes you have to use the one thing holding you back as a spring board for your future.
It's mid September and we're watching you like a half white zombie king giving you the hairy eyeball..... y'all ready for some chrome?
