ACSHA Welcome - Since 1982, the ACSHA has been serving the South Central Pennsylvania area. A small clubhouse with snack and beverage vending. http://acsha.com/

We strive to provide the community with safe, fun and professional shooting range services and training. The ACSHA is a private outdoor range facility located near Gettysburg, Pa in northern Adams County, south-central Pennsylvania. ACSHA facilities include two 25 yard pistol ranges, for action pistol events, and a 100 yard rifle range. Access is limited by a locked gate, unless the range is open

for an event or meetings. We hold action shoots for all types of fi****ms. We provide various NRA training courses. Please refer to our current schedule, as well as descriptions and pictures of our training and events, all of which is located at our website.

The upcoming July 18th event (Pistol Caliber Carbine Shoot, https://www.facebook.com/events/834756259388235) may have some interesting additions to it. We also could use an extra hand or two (or, extra two or four...or what ever you might have...) with setting up targets.

For those that might not know what a carbine is, here is a great article from the USCCA site (https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/blog/what-is-a-carbine/). A carbine is basically an under 22" long rifle, and if pistol caliber, then clearly it's a short rifle that shoots pistol calibers (9mm, 10mm, .45acp, .22LR, etc.). Carbines are quite handy, fun, and something that everyone should have a few of. :) Especially ones that take G***k mags, since G***k mags are ubiquitous, but all flavors are great to consider.

Many companies offer pistol caliber carbines, so if you have the problem of a few extra dollars needing some justification, check out the many common brands (S&W, Bear Creek Arsenal, Springfield Armory, R***r, CMMG, and more). Here is an interesting article to help with reviewing some of the latest selections (https://www.pewpewtactical.com/pistol-caliber-carbines/).

Continuing the email fixing...the first club email from roughly a week or two ago had a 23% return rate (yikes!), hence, fixes were needed. This 2nd email that went out already has a few bugs that we are working on. But, we are on it. Please msg if you are a member and did not receive the email. The things-to-do at the club are growing, and we don't want you to miss out.

A quick FYI, the club emails should be about up to speed now. [email protected] is a general inquiry addy, while the contact page on the website has specific emails that auto-forward to the person listed. This should HOPEFULLY mean a significant reduction in lost emails. Spam is always a challenge, but the channel is improving.

Please msg if you think you are not receiving emails, or with any other inquiries.

A Work Day bit to share...we will do a bulk email inclusion of this topic soon, but to share with the masses...if anyone has the equipment that can trim the berms of the range, would that be a plausible request to honor? The berms are tricky to trim with a w**d trimmer, as the hills are steep on either side, and are challenging for an individual with a hand-held trimmer. Were a machine available to help get the brunt of the sides done in one feel swoop (think about the trimmers you see along the turnpike or interstates...), that could help to get the brunt of the growth on the sides; a human could walk on the top to get the top portion with a trimmer, as the tops are roughly two feet wide; safer to walk on, and to swing a trimmer than trying to walk down the sides. The growth on the berms does get high very quickly, but if there were a service or tool available for a bi-annual, possibly try-annual trimming, that would go far with effectiveness and with range safety. If you have a tool that could help with this concern, or have some input that could help to achieve a reduced growth on the berms (got goats?), please msg Jonathan at [email protected] and cc [email protected]; we are trying to find a happy medium that could get the growth under control.

Also, anyone with a boom truck that would let a motivated individual in the bucket to help trim the rifle range would also be of interest. If a routine were in effect that could chip away at this a few times a year (or even bi-yearly, as trees grow slowly), the routine of that would keep the growth at a minimum. Input on the above is MUCH appreciated. :)

A reminder that July 25th is a NRA RSO class, for those that want to add that credential to your tool box. The schedule on the website will be updated shortly to July 25th, so please set the reminder if you can.

For those who may not have been receiving club emails in the past, please feel free to msg directly to confirm if you are on the current member list. Since we are cleaning up much behind the scenes, it may not hurt to have a double check in some way. Today we helped two different members with questions regarding range access and emails, and a few others were helped last week with similar issues.

To recap some current bits:

-the schedule is up-to-date on the website, but double checks are still needed. There may be some LE reservation nuances to check.

-the new email '[email protected]' listed on the website will go to all the board members. The 'Contact' page will have individual emails listed that go to those respective individuals.

-content is being updated on the website in the days ahead.

-the website is running much faster now, so you should notice a performance boost when viewing.

-please feel free to pvt msg with any questions; feedback helps to drive the needed change.

-not all members are FB followers, but we of course appreciate any 'Likes' and sharing of the FB page, as the metrics always help. And not all FB followers are members, but we hope they might join the range.

-the current member list will drive any bulk emails. If you think you are NOT receiving any emails, please msg directly for us to double check.

As always, thank you for your patience. More updates to follow.
