ACSHA Welcome - Since 1982, the ACSHA has been serving the South Central Pennsylvania area. A small clubhouse with snack and beverage vending. http://acsha.com/

We strive to provide the community with safe, fun and professional shooting range services and training. The ACSHA is a private outdoor range facility located near Gettysburg, Pa in northern Adams County, south-central Pennsylvania. ACSHA facilities include two 25 yard pistol ranges, for action pistol events, and a 100 yard rifle range. Access is limited by a locked gate, unless the range is open

for an event or meetings. We hold action shoots for all types of fi****ms. We provide various NRA training courses. Please refer to our current schedule, as well as descriptions and pictures of our training and events, all of which is located at our website.

A quick FYI, the club emails should be about up to speed now. [email protected] is a general inquiry addy, while the contact page on the website has specific emails that auto-forward to the person listed. This should HOPEFULLY mean a significant reduction in lost emails. Spam is always a challenge, but the channel is improving.

Please msg if you think you are not receiving emails, or with any other inquiries.

A Work Day bit to share...we will do a bulk email inclusion of this topic soon, but to share with the masses...if anyone has the equipment that can trim the berms of the range, would that be a plausible request to honor? The berms are tricky to trim with a w**d trimmer, as the hills are steep on either side, and are challenging for an individual with a hand-held trimmer. Were a machine available to help get the brunt of the sides done in one feel swoop (think about the trimmers you see along the turnpike or interstates...), that could help to get the brunt of the growth on the sides; a human could walk on the top to get the top portion with a trimmer, as the tops are roughly two feet wide; safer to walk on, and to swing a trimmer than trying to walk down the sides. The growth on the berms does get high very quickly, but if there were a service or tool available for a bi-annual, possibly try-annual trimming, that would go far with effectiveness and with range safety. If you have a tool that could help with this concern, or have some input that could help to achieve a reduced growth on the berms (got goats?), please msg Jonathan at [email protected] and cc [email protected]; we are trying to find a happy medium that could get the growth under control.

Also, anyone with a boom truck that would let a motivated individual in the bucket to help trim the rifle range would also be of interest. If a routine were in effect that could chip away at this a few times a year (or even bi-yearly, as trees grow slowly), the routine of that would keep the growth at a minimum. Input on the above is MUCH appreciated. :)

A reminder that July 25th is a NRA RSO class, for those that want to add that credential to your tool box. The schedule on the website will be updated shortly to July 25th, so please set the reminder if you can.

For those who may not have been receiving club emails in the past, please feel free to msg directly to confirm if you are on the current member list. Since we are cleaning up much behind the scenes, it may not hurt to have a double check in some way. Today we helped two different members with questions regarding range access and emails, and a few others were helped last week with similar issues.

To recap some current bits:

-the schedule is up-to-date on the website, but double checks are still needed. There may be some LE reservation nuances to check.

-the new email '[email protected]' listed on the website will go to all the board members. The 'Contact' page will have individual emails listed that go to those respective individuals.

-content is being updated on the website in the days ahead.

-the website is running much faster now, so you should notice a performance boost when viewing.

-please feel free to pvt msg with any questions; feedback helps to drive the needed change.

-not all members are FB followers, but we of course appreciate any 'Likes' and sharing of the FB page, as the metrics always help. And not all FB followers are members, but we hope they might join the range.

-the current member list will drive any bulk emails. If you think you are NOT receiving any emails, please msg directly for us to double check.

As always, thank you for your patience. More updates to follow.

Today was unofficially a work day, but officially much was accomplished. Exceptional kudos go to Jonathan, Paul, Mike, Thad, and Jason for their back breaking work today. New stone was put into the shoot house (a huge effort in itself!), debris moved, the rear storage trailer filled back in a functional way; this crew, and a few names that may be missing but credited in time, have done an absolutely amazing job with this and the prior work days. Jonathan and his team have truly made a tremendous impact on things, and that is much appreciated.

A quick mention that the bench in the rifle bay has been replaced for now with two of the shooting benches that were in storage. As efforts are made to w**d out bad/rotting wood in various areas, with new furniture to eventually replace that which is wearing out. If using the range, please help to keep things orderly by returning things to their home when done.

Lastly, the website now has the much needed updates listed for improved communication. The '[email protected]' is set up as a general inquiry/catch all, as the prior email was not working; the 'Contact' page has the key specific contacts in place for those making a specific inquiry. We are tweaking things to help avoid missed communications and to improve follow up, and that is a very good thing. Email blasts will be purposeful and focused so that we don't spam the members.

Thank you all for your patience with the updates. :)

Maintenance post (i.e. good details to share):

To all members, just an FYI that as we get the website back to standard, as there may be some catch up on things. A few inquiries have already been received via FB about membership status, along with a few other things. The following bits may be of help with the catch-up of topics and concerns. To non-members, well, it all still is of help if you want to enjoy your 2A rights.

*****

-not all FB followers are members. Clearly, we want as many followers of the FB page as possible, and would hope that they are also members. :) But, social media is a channel in itself. All events known have been listed as FB events, but now with an updated webmaster (aka website administrator), we can use email blasts (with moderation, to not inundate your email with 'msg fatigue') to keep you more current on things. If you are a FB page follower and NOT a member, of course please consider joining. We would love to have you be a member, and enjoy exercising your 2A rights, along with meeting the cast of characters that make things happen with the ACSHA. Adding to that, if you are a member that wants to help at Gettysburg Bike Week this July, you get a free day pass if you help at the tent; pvt msg for info.

-to all FB followers that ARE members, please know the emails will be more accurate going forward, and hopefully more timely. In the short term, new msgs may seem last minute, but moving forward, it will be more proactive. And to help emphasize a detail or two:
..the website schedule will be updated regularly. We plan the year in early January, but revisions will now be updated quickly. Website performance should already be noticeably speedier.
..email blasts from the club are steered to members only, and with moderation, so that we don't annoy you with excess msg traffic. These compliment any social media event, but members get the email blast on topics of interest.
..if you have had a lack of response in the past to msgs, please know that will be fixed in the weeks ahead. The website will have a generic '[email protected]' email that goes to all the admin, so that your msg is captured and steered towards the right person. However, we will retain the individual contact page on the website that lists emails to each person, should you want to be specific. This will help to catch all incoming inquiries in a more thorough manner.

-Got a training question? msg Chris at [email protected] or [email protected];
-Got a range question? msg Todd at [email protected] or via [email protected];
-Got a dues/membership question? msg Mike or Brian at [email protected] or [email protected] or use the generic [email protected].

The gist is, the system is being updated to help the members with efficiency, and that is a good thing. This FB page is always a fall back, should a response be slow to arrive.

We appreciate the patience of everyone who has been a member/social media follower with the website and social media presence. With the revisions ahead, the changes should make for a better user experience. The 2A is too important, and it matters to us all.

In the meantime, please feel free to pvt msg with any questions you may have regarding dues, your membership status, etc. Please check the 'Events' listing in the FB page for anything of interest. And please, always enjoy your 2A rights, as that we ultimately drives us all with our passion and pastime.

The first test bulk email went out last night, so please check your spam bins if you think about it. As we continue to tweak behind the scenes, this may happen for a bit. It's difficult to ensure that bulk emails are not tagged as spam, but at least we are moving towards an improved efficiency with emails. Bulk emails won't be a regular thing, so there is no worry of being inundated with emails, but having a working email tool again is a step forward.
