🎾 TIGHT CHEST? YOUR SHOULDERS & POSTURE MAY BE FEELING IT TOO!

A tennis ball or Yoga Tune UpÂŽ therapy ball against the wall is one of my favorite simple ways to release tension through the pecs and help restore more comfortable movement through the chest and shoulders.

Place the ball between the wall and one side of your chest and gently lean in. I like adding a yoga block to create a little more space and give me room to move. 😉

From there, try either:
✨ Slowly rolling across tight areas of the pecs
✨ Pinning the ball on a tender spot and gently moving your arm
✨ Pausing on an area of tension and taking several slow, deep breaths

The goal isn’t to crush the tissue — more pressure isn’t necessarily better. Give your body time to relax around the ball.

Regular pec release may help:
💜 Reduce feelings of chest tightness
💜 Improve shoulder mobility
💜 Support a more open, comfortable posture
💜 Make movement through the chest and rib cage feel less restricted

Move slowly, keep the pressure comfortable, and avoid rolling directly over bones or sensitive joints. Sharp or unusual pain = stop.

Sometimes creating more freedom in the shoulders starts with releasing what’s tight in the front. 💪

Your SHINS and CALVES work hard all day—give them a little LOVE! 🦵✨

Releasing your calves and tibialis anterior—the muscle along the front of your shin—may help:

✅ Improve ankle mobility
✅ Ease tightness and soreness
✅ Make squats and lunges feel smoother
✅ Support more comfortable walking and running
✅ Reduce tension through your feet, ankles and knees

Try this simple release: use a massage ball or foam roller to gently work along your calf and the muscle beside your shin for 30–60 seconds per side. Breathe slowly, stay comfortable, and avoid pressing directly on the shin bone.

Your lower legs can make a big difference in how your whole body moves. Give it a try today!

READ THIS AGAIN: You are the greatest project you’ll ever work on.

Progress is rarely a straight line. Some days you feel strong and unstoppable. Other days, simply showing up is the victory.

You are allowed to restart.
You are allowed to reset.
You are allowed to refocus—as many times as you need.

Starting again doesn’t mean you failed. It means you haven’t given up on yourself. 💜

What is one thing you’re ready to refocus on? Tell me below. 👇

Whatever you’re facing today, take it one step at a time.

You don’t need to feel completely ready. You don’t need to have everything figured out. Start where you are, use the strength you already have, and keep moving forward.

You are more capable than you think—and you’ve totally got this. 💪✨

What are you tackling today?

RESEARCH SHOWS- Massage is NOT ENOUGH for long term relief.

Getting a massage or doing self myofascial release with a therapy-ball is a great way to reduce sensitivity, improve movement tolerance and temporarily increase usable range… HOWEVER this must be reinforced with active MOBILITY and STRENGTH.

The study -

1. Massage/MFR does not appear to acutely “soften” muscle or tendon tissue

Citation: Löbell R, et al. Short-term effectiveness of massage techniques on myotendinous structures’ stiffness: a systematic review and meta-analysis. Research in Sports Medicine. Published online July 2, 2026. PubMed record and DOI

* Evidence: Systematic review and meta-analysis of 25 randomized studies involving 617 participants. Interventions included self-massage/rolling in 17 studies, manual massage in four, and instrument-assisted techniques in four.
* Finding: There was no statistically significant acute change in overall muscle stiffness or gastrocnemius stiffness. The qualitative findings likewise showed no consistent alteration in muscle, tendon, or muscle–tendon-unit stiffness.
* Important limitations: Techniques, treatment doses, anatomical regions and stiffness-measurement methods varied considerably. This review evaluated immediate mechanical stiffness—not pain, body awareness, autonomic effects, movement confidence or longer-term outcomes.
* Practice interpretation: This does not show that MFR is ineffective. It challenges the explanation that a brief treatment mechanically lengthens, breaks up or permanently “releases” fascia.
* Practical implication: Frame a therapy-ball or manual release as a way to reduce sensitivity, improve movement tolerance and temporarily increase usable range—then reinforce that range with active mobility and strength.
