Last week, IDC had the privilege of welcoming Ailey II of Alvin Ailey to our school. We are so grateful to Artistic Director Francesca Harper for generously taking the time to connect with our students, and to the entire company for opening their hearts and their art to our community. It was a true joy.
The IDC School students had the rare opportunity to sit in on a rehearsal, which was a masterclass in itself. Later that evening, our IDC School and MDT students took a masterclass lead by Rehearsal Director Shay Bland and company members - an experience they’ll carry for years to come.
To celebrate, we hosted a reception honoring the company and the end of their tour, bringing together our students, our IDC family, and Ailey II for an evening of connection (pictures to come soon!). With our deepest gratitude, thank you Ailey II. 🤍
