Shout-out to Jake Kadel for being named the Head Assistant Coach for the Iowa State Cyclones Women’s Wrestling team! Cyclones got an awesome coaching talent with him. Kadel spent the last three years as the head coach of the William Penn women’s wrestling program and led them to 3 top-five finishes at the NAIA National Tournament and coached 9 individual champs in this time. His teams placed 4th-4th-2nd as a team at NAIA Nationals while Kadel was the HC there.
Jake was trained by Pablo Ubasa for the majority, if not the entirety of his competitive career. He competed for HC Mark Chiri at New London HS ‘11 where he placed in the top 3 at the Iowa HS State Wrestling Tournament all 4 years of HS, going 3-3-2-1 from 2008-2011 at 1A 103, 1A 112, 1A 125 and 1A 135. He competed collegiately for the Iowa Hawkeyes where he was a 4X letterwinner from 2011-16.
Congratulations to Jake Kadel and the entire Cyclones wrestling community! I think this hire will end up being a great one when all is said and done! Nice person, too!
