About Kristi



Kristi Bluett Morton began gymnastics at age 5 and started competing at age 8. Prior to Kristi’s college career she was the Georgia state All Around champion 3 times, a member of the USAG Region 8 team and a National Qualifier multiple times. At the collegiate level Kristi competed for the University of Florida in 1993 before transferring and finishing her career as a Gymdog at the

University of Georgia. The Gymdogs won the SEC Team Championship in 1994 and 1996 and finished in the top 5 nationally in each of those 3 years. Kristi has coached classes and competitive teams since 1997 and believes strongly in the importance of developing her students as athletes and beyond as well-rounded individuals. In addition to offering classes and instruction in DeRidder, Kristi is a class and team coach at Mimi’s Tumble Bee Gymnastics in Westlake. Safety and professionalism are of the utmost importance. Kristi maintains an active Competitive Coach Membership with USA Gymnastics (USAG) and has completed all required safety training, certification courses and background screening.

’Twas the night before gymnastics, and all through the house,
Not a gymnast was flipping—not even a mouse! 🐭

Leotards were ready, the water bottles too,
Tomorrow was the day they’d learn something new! 💕

The backpacks were packed, the excitement was high,
With cartwheels and handstands soon reaching the sky! 🌟

“Will I make friends? Will I learn how to flip?”
So many big questions as they got ready to zip! 😴

Then off to bed they went, dreaming of fun,
Because EXCEL GYMNASTICS ACADEMY was ready for everyone! 💙
