New rule changes for the 2026 high school season.

🚨 BREAKING: The NFHS approved 7 volleyball rules changes and updates for the 2026–2027 high school season.
Here’s what’s changing:
🏐 1. Two liberos may now be designated (only one can be on the court at a time).
🏐 2. State associations may approve textured volleyballs for competition.
🏐 3. Libero uniform bottoms no longer have to match the team’s uniform bottoms.
🏐 4. Players on the serving team may not raise their hands above their heads before the serve crosses the net (to reduce screening).
🏐 5. Audio and video devices are prohibited during a match FOR ATHLETES to wear(spectators may record!)
🏐 6. Several rules were updated to clarify two-libero procedures, including injury, disqualification, and redesignation.
🏐 7. Additional editorial and administrative updates were made throughout the NFHS volleyball rules book to improve consistency and rule application.
